We are seeking a highly skilled SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) Techno-Functional Consultant with over 5 years of hands-on experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong functional knowledge of master data domains (Customer, Vendor, Material, Finance, etc.) along with solid technical expertise in MDG framework, workflows, and integration with SAP and non-SAP systems. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, functional teams, and technical developers to design, configure, and deliver scalable MDG solutions.
The SAP MDG Technical Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining SAP MDG solutions to ensure high-quality master data governance across the enterprise. This role involves technical leadership, hands-on development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver robust data governance frameworks.
Key Accountabilities
- Gather business requirements and translate them into MDG solutions (Data Models, UI Modeling, Workflows, BRF+ rules).
- Configure MDG for different domains (Customer, Vendor, Material, Finance, Custom Objects).
- Lead/Perform technical activities such as BADI implementations, enhancements, data replication, and integration with SAP ECC/S4 HANA and non-SAP systems.
- Support MDG consolidation, central governance, and data quality management processes.
- Collaborate with functional teams to ensure end-to-end process coverage.
- Develop and maintain data replication frameworks using ALE/IDOCs/SLT/SOA services.
- Provide support for data migration, validations, and error handling.
- Troubleshoot MDG-related issues across functional and technical layers.
- Contribute to design reviews, solution architecture discussions, and best practice implementations.
- Prepare functional and technical documentation, test scripts, and training material.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of 5 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 7 years or more of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of SAP MDG techno-functional experience.
- Strong knowledge of MDG data models, governance processes, and workflow design.
- Proficiency in MDG configuration and functional domains (Customer, Vendor, Material, Finance preferred).
- Hands-on experience with ABAP enhancements, BADI, BRF+, FPM, and UI modeling.
- Good understanding of data replication techniques (SOA, ALE, IDOCs, SLT).
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA and ECC integration.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Exposure to data quality, cleansing, and migration projects.
Nice to Have :
- SAP MDG Certification
- Experience with SAP Workflow and Fiori apps for MDG.
- Knowledge of SAP Information Steward / Data Services for data quality.
- Familiarity with Agile project delivery
