The Role
Leads SRAM’s global professional cycling race program across road, gravel, triathlon, and cyclocross. Manages race technicians, technical support for teams and athletes, sponsorship scouting, contract negotiation, athlete and team relationships, marketing activation, product feedback, racing budgets, and global sports marketing planning. Requires extensive cycling industry knowledge, bicycle mechanic skills, team leadership, and up to 40% domestic and international travel.

Overview
SRAM is looking for a Race Manager to select and manage SRAM's investments in road, gravel, triathlon, and cyclocross racing. This role leads a global team of race technicians who support professional teams and athletes at the highest level of competitive cycling.
Responsibilities
  • Lead a high performing team of Race Technicians
  • Manage technical requirements for pro teams and athletes in collaboration with product stakeholders
  • Provide technical feedback from teams to product development
  • Scout potential future teams and athletes to promote SRAM brands
  • Develop and negotiate contracts with athletes and teams
  • Manage contracts and relationships and support cross functional activation of sponsorships
  • Represent the team in annual marketing planning and go to market planning processes
  • Inspire a team culture of continuous improvement
  • Manage the racing budget

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Marketing, Communications, or a similar field, or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of experience in Sports Marketing, Communications, or a similar field
  • 3 years of experience directly managing a team, or related management experience
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute global sports marketing strategies
  • Extensive knowledge of the global bike and race industry
  • Exceptional written, oral, and public speaking communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and influence teams in a cross functional, global workplace
  • Experience with budget analysis and planning
  • Strong bicycle mechanic skills, including the ability to perform a complete assembly of a race bike
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Working Conditions:
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 40 percent of the time, including weekends
  • Ability to stand at events for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds / 20 kg
  • Ability to ride a bike to accomplish objectives
  • Compensation and Benefits:
  • Starting salary range: $100,000 up to $150,000, based on skills and experience. For candidates based in Schweinfurt, Germany, salary will be commensurate with experience and local market pay standards
  • Annual corporate bonus eligibility based on company and individual performance
