JOB DESCRIPTION
This role is responsible for growing and improving materials and plastics products and services to support the company's business goals. You will turn market needs into successful products and services, from early idea through launch and growth.
  • Lead the development and expansion of materials and plastics products and services to support company growth.
  • Help achieve around 10% year-over-year growth by supporting key growth initiatives within Materials & Products (M&P).
  • Drive new offerings in areas such as energy transition, sustainability, mobility, safety, and new market segments.
  • Support the New Material Testing initiative by building the right technical capabilities and regional coverage.
  • Ensure global product support, with a strong focus on Asia for both local and global activities.
  • Understand customer and market needs and compare them with UL and competitor capabilities.
  • Help define go-to-market plans, including value propositions, product differentiation, and business models.
  • Set product priorities and maintain a clear product roadmap.
  • Track product performance using goals and metrics to guide future decisions.
  • Clearly communicate product vision and strategy internally and externally, while living UL's Ways of Working.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the established product vision with deep market understanding to implement and improve the product strategy.
  • Evaluate market needs against UL's and competitors' unique abilities to address them.
  • Support and contribute to the go-to-market strategy, describing how value will be delivered to the customer/user, how the product is differentiated from the competition, and what the business model should be in a given market.
  • Prioritize product/service functions and features into a product roadmap.
  • Monitor a set of product goals, outcomes and corresponding metrics to continually evaluate against and drive future activities and strategies.
  • Evangelize and communicate the product vision, strategy and goals internally across the organization, as well as externally with client users.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor's degree) in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of technical, commercial or business experience in Engineered Materials or a related industry field.
  • Deep understanding and technical expertise within Materials and Plastics (Plastics, additive Manufacturing, recycling, Electrical Insulation Systems, Marking and Labeling, tape, tubing and sleeving, coatings and liquids (immersion cooling, gasket & seals, etc)
  • Facilitation skills - ability to lead small to medium groups of internal and external stakeholders towards desired outcomes in order to meet business objectives
  • Interview skills - ability to conduct discovery sessions with clients. prospects and stakeholders in order to diagnose business opportunities, elicit requirements and conduct other types of research
  • Strong communication and presentation (PowerPoint) skills
  • Formal training and/or certification in Product Management is a plus
  • Working with remote teams is highly preferred
  • Project management certification is a plus

Skills Required

  • University Degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) in Engineering, Business, or related discipline
