The ServiceNow Senior Platform Engineer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining Cargill's ServiceNow platform to deliver scalable and reliable enterprise solutions.This position is responsible for implementing configurations, integrations, and automation within ServiceNow to support IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and other enterprise workflows. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the platform meets business needs, adheres to best practices, and drives operational efficiency across global technology services. As an engineer, this role will require development initiatives, optimize platform performance, and ensure compliance with governance and security standards.
Key Accountabilities
- SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT: Designs and develops high-quality software solutions by writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- AUTOMATION: Application of internal software deployment platforms, continuous integration or continuous delivery pipelines, and twelve-factor development methodology to automate the deployment process, ensuring smooth and reliable releases.
- COLLABORATION: Partners with cross-functional teams of product managers, designers, and other engineers to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- TESTING & DEBUGGING: Writes and maintains unit tests and integration tests and performs debugging to maintain the quality and performance of the software, applying test-driven development as needed.
- CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Recommends options for improving the software development and deployment processes and implements the approved standards to improve efficiency and reliability.
- DOCUMENTATION: Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation for complex software applications, deployment processes, and system configurations.
- TECHNICAL SUPPORT: Provides technical support and troubleshooting for complex issues with deployed applications to ensure minimal downtime and fast resolution.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of 3 years of relevant work experience, typically reflects 4 years ServiceNow-Specific Responsibilities:
- ServiceNow Platform Management: Administer and maintain the ServiceNow platform, including configuration, customization, and integration with other systems.
- ServiceNow Development: Develop and implement new ServiceNow Catalogs, modules, applications, and workflows to meet business requirements.
- Must have Minimum 2 years of experience in ServiceNow Catalog Engineering, including catalog item development, Record Producers, Order Guides, Scripting, Flow Designer/Workflow development, and implementation of complex fulfillment and automation solutions.
- ServiceNow Automation: Utilize ServiceNow's automation capabilities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- ServiceNow Upgrades: Plan and execute ServiceNow platform upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to users and maintaining compatibility with existing customizations.
- ServiceNow Best Practices: Ensure adherence to ServiceNow best practices and standards in all development and administration activities.
- ServiceNow Training & Support: Provide training and support to end-users and other stakeholders on ServiceNow functionalities and features.
