About the role

Wolters Kluwer is strengthening its Salesforce platform operations to ensure a stable, secure, and scalable foundation for global business teams. The role combines enterprise Salesforce platform ownership with DevSecOps responsibility, owning both the operational integrity of the platform and the secure delivery mechanisms that govern how change is introduced at scale.

As the Salesforce Platform Administrator, you are accountable for the overall health and stability of multiple Salesforce orgs, with a strong emphasis on governance, security, and operational readiness. This includes configuration consistency, access control models, environment strategy (org and sandbox lifecycle), security posture management, and ensuring the platform remains auditready and resilient for global teams.

In parallel, you act as a DevSecOps owner for Salesforce, responsible for operating and evolving the CI/CD capability—specifically a Copado based deployment framework. You will enforce secure, compliant, and repeatable deployment practices, embed security and quality controls into release pipelines, and work closely with Release Management to enable predictable and low risk releases. This responsibility goes beyond tooling and includes process design, guardrails, and operational discipline across development teams.

This is a hands-on platform leadership role, working in close partnership with Developers, Architects, Release Management, and Security teams. The objective is to keep Salesforce easy to change, safe to operate, and scalable by design, ensuring that platform governance and modern DevSecOps practices are fully aligned to support enterprise growth.

Core Responsibilities

 Salesforce Platform Administration

  • Serve as the primary owner of Salesforce platform administration across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.

  • Own day-to-day platform operations including org configuration, user access, permissions, limits, storage, and performance monitoring.

  • Define, maintain, and execute sandbox strategies, including creation, refresh schedules, data seeding, masking, and cleanup, aligned with compliance requirements.

  • Monitor and proactively manage Salesforce limits, API usage, storage consumption, and background processes to prevent disruptions.

  • Ensure consistent configuration standards, documentation, and operational readiness across all regions.

DevSecOps & Copado

  • Own the Salesforce DevSecOps capability, including roadmap, standards, and maturity model.

  • Act as the single point of accountability for Salesforce CI/CD across all regions and delivery pipelines.

  • Configure, govern, and continuously improve Copado pipelines, supporting standard releases, back‑promotions, hotfixes, and rollback scenarios.

  • Validate and execute deployments while enforcing release standards in collaboration with Release Management and Technical Leads.

  • Maintain and evolve integrations with Jira, Change Enablement / ORR, and DevLake.

  • Drive automation and standardization to reduce manual deployment effort and delivery risk.

  • Implement and enforce security controls within CI/CD pipelines, including quality gates, audit‑ready traceability, and alignment with enterprise security and compliance standard

Above primary responsibilities are the core focus of the role and a key success measure.

Salesforce Environment & Release Operations

  • Coordinate platform readiness for releases, including environment validation, configuration checks, and deployment windows.

  • Partner with Operation Leads to ensure Salesforce environments are aligned, stable, and deployment ready.

  • Maintain environment configuration baselines and ensure consistency across sandboxes and production.

  • Support hotfixes and emergency changes from a platform operations perspective.

Security, Access & Compliance

  • Own Salesforce user access management, roles, profiles, permission sets, and access reviews in alignment with enterprise IAM (e.g., SailPoint).

  • Manage Salesforce certificates, keys, and security configurations, including DKIM and integration credentials.

  • Partner with Enterprise Security teams to enforce Salesforce security posture, review AppExchange applications, and align platform controls with organizational security standards.

  • Embed security and quality control early (shift‑left) within CI/CD pipelines.

  • Act as first-line administrative support for audits (e.g., NIST, Hyper Proof, DR), ensuring artifacts and evidence are readily available.

Platform Monitoring, Stability & Incident Support

  • Monitor platform health, integrations, batch jobs, scheduled processes, and asynchronous activity.

  • Proactively identify risks related to performance, limits, data growth, and integrations.

  • Support incident resolution, participate in root-cause analysis, and implement preventative administrative controls.

Leadership, Enablement & Collaboration

  • Line‑manage and mentor DevSecOps/Admin Engineers based in India, acting as escalation point.

  • Provide hands‑on expertise for complex deployments, platform issues, and pipeline optimizations.

  • Collaborate closely with Salesforce Developers, Architects, QA, Release Management, and Security teams globally.

  • Support onboarding, enablement, and adoption of Salesforce DevSecOps and platform standards.

  • Maintain a hands‑on contribution level of 40–60%, balancing leadership with execution.

Required Profile

  • Must Have

  • 7+ years of Salesforce Platform Admin experience

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps / DevSecOps / Release Management

  • 3+ years of hands-on Copado experience (governance orgs, pipelines, quality gates)

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce environments, metadata, and deployment models

  • Experience with Git based version control and pull request workflows

  • Proven experience leading or coordinating a small technical team

  • Nice to Have

  • Experience with automated testing strategies

  • Familiarity with DevLake or pipeline metrics

  • Experience working in a Center of Excellence / shared services model

  • Copado and/or Salesforce certifications (preferred, not mandatory)

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
