JOB DESCRIPTION
Effectively manages day-to-day team activities, providing guidance on projects, project management, and business opportunities within a highly matrixed organization. Supports the GMA Manager in defining and executing strategy through clear goals, KPIs, and performance metrics.
Ensures optimal resource allocation, monitors workload, and identifies alternative solutions through effective delegation. Drives a high-performing, engaged team while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Supports commercial objectives by ensuring balanced workload delivery aligned with UL's Mission and customer expectations.
Maintains knowledge and support project management, with focus on Wireless, Cybersecurity, and AI regulatory domains.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Capacity & Capability Management
    Implements and executes capacity and capability planning under Manager guidance. Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to understand project scope, including technical requirements in wireless, cybersecurity, and AI-related domains, ensuring effective resource allocation. Drives continuous process improvements to enhance delivery outcomes.
  • Team Leadership & Development
    Builds and sustains a high-performing team by managing performance, engagement, and development. Supports the definition of goals, KPIs, and metrics aligned with strategy execution. Coaches team members through training, feedback, and career development, including strengthening competencies in emerging regulatory areas such as AI, data governance, cybersecurity compliance, and wireless technologies. Ensures compliance with all policies and requirements.
  • Customer Engagement & Commercial Support
    Strengthens customer loyalty by anticipating needs and delivering proactive solutions. Supports sales through strong customer relationships and pipeline awareness, including advisory support on wireless, cybersecurity, and AI regulatory requirements. Collects and acts on feedback to improve services and identify growth opportunities.
  • Operational & Technical Support
    Provides guidance to team members and customers to resolve issues, including complex or non-standard requests related to wireless certification, cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., IoT, connected products), and AI-related compliance considerations. Ensures quality, consistency, and adherence to applicable standards, schemes, and UL programs.
  • Business Growth & Innovation
    Leads or contributes to strategic discussions and initiatives to drive growth. Encourages the team to identify and develop opportunities in rapidly evolving areas such as AI-enabled products, digital security, and connected technologies, supporting UL's positioning in these domains.
  • Collaboration & Change Leadership
    Demonstrates and promotes UL's Vision and Mission. Leads change initiatives and fosters a culture of innovation and adaptability, particularly in the context of digital transformation, AI adoption, and cybersecurity advancements. Builds strong global and cross-functional relationships to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Ethics & Compliance
    Adheres to the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and all physical and digital security practices, including awareness of cybersecurity and data protection requirements.
  • Additional Duties
    Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's Degree required
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent Knowledge of the TIC business and the industries in which the business functions.
  • Ability to navigate and make decisions in ambiguous environment with general guidance.
  • Good understanding of financial and business metrics for driving results
  • Demonstrates knowledge of how decisions impact business results, working with a diverse team and planning and thinking strategically
  • Ability to manage employee performance using performance expectations and goals and responding to employee relations issues.
  • Demonstrates the ability to listen, learn and teach.
  • Ability to take calculated risks and plan for contingencies.
  • Has global responsibility as key resource for global market access pursuits
  • Ability to make the complex simple and present information in a concise, relevant and powerful manner.
  • Skilled in networking, project management, facilitation and communications
  • Demonstrated ability to independently identify needs for GMA projects or programs, formulate objectives, plan and execute projects and/or programs, and manage programs.
    What we offer:
    We understand that remuneration and benefits are important when deciding on your next career move. The annual salary range for this position in Italy is EUR 42200 -56200 gross, determined by numerous factors, including knowledge, skills, and experience. This position also offers an annual bonus of up to 10% of annual salary. We also offer 21 vacation days, lunch voucher (10€ per working day),Voluntary Individual Pension Plan, Fiscal Assistance, access to the ULS University learning platform to support your development and learning, two additional days off for volunteering, and flexible working to support your work-life balance.
    Please note that the stated salary range applies to Italy only. For all other locations, compensation will be aligned with the corresponding country-specific salary ranges.
