Functional Safety Senior Project Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job description:
1. Provide evaluation and certification services, or cybersecurity assessment services, for industrial products, industrial equipment, industrial components, machinery, control systems, and connected products.
2. Respond to customer inquiries regarding applicable standards and regulations.
3. Manage projects from technical meetings through certification, assessment, and report preparation.
4. Prepare technical reports, evaluation reports, certification documentation, and customer deliverables.
5. Conduct evaluation, certification, and compliance support activities related to UL Standards, IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 60947-4 Series, IEC 60947-5 Series, IEC 62443 Series, ISO/SAE 21434, the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), and the Machinery Regulation (MR).
6. Collaborate with engineers, laboratories, certification bodies, and commercial teams in Japan and overseas.
7. Conduct seminars, technical training, exhibitions, and customer workshops.
8. Contribute to new service development and business growth initiatives.

◆ 技術レポート、評価報告書、認証資料および顧客向け成果物の作成
◆ 以下の規格・規制に関する評価・認証・適合支援業務： UL 規格、 IEC 61800-5-1 、 IEC 60947-4 シリーズ、 IEC 60947-5 シリーズ、 IEC 62443 シリーズ、 ISO/SAE 21434 、 Cyber Resilience Act （ CRA ）、 Machinery Regulation （ MR ）
◆ 国内外エンジニア、試験所、認証機関、営業部門との連携
◆ セミナー、技術トレーニング、展示会および顧客ワークショップの実施
◆ 新サービス開発および事業拡大活動への参画
What makes you a great fit:
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, control engineering, software engineering, cybersecurity, or another related technical discipline.
2. Three or more years of professional experience in at least one of the following areas: industrial equipment or machinery design; product safety; functional safety; cybersecurity; certification; industrial automation; embedded software development; control systems; or OT security.
3. Ability to communicate effectively in Japanese and English, including communication with customers and regional or global teams.
4. Ability to read technical documents, prepare technical reports, and deliver customer-facing presentations.
5. Customer-oriented mindset with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, self-motivation, flexibility, ownership, and attention to detail.
6. Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with or knowledge of IEC 61800-5-1
• Experience with or knowledge of the IEC 60947 Series
• Experience with or knowledge of the IEC 62443 Series
• Experience with or knowledge of ISO/SAE 21434
• Experience in Functional Safety (IEC 61508, ISO 26262, IEC 62061, ISO 13849, etc.)
• Knowledge of electrical safety and EMC standards
• Experience with industrial control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and DCS
• Experience working for a certification body, testing laboratory, or conformity assessment organization
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GICSP, ISA/IEC 62443, CISM, or other cybersecurity-related credentials
