We help our customers make critical decisions every day by providing expert solutions that combine deep domain knowledge with specialized technology and services.
About the Role:
As a Backend Product Software Engineer (Go), you will contribute to the development and evolution of the Kyte product. You will work hands‑on on backend features, collaborate closely with product and design peers, and steadily grow your technical depth and impact. This role is ideal for an engineer who is comfortable delivering production code, eager to learn, and ready to take increasing ownership within a product team.
Kyte is a lightweight, user-friendly SaaS-based invoicing tool designed for freelancers, sole traders, and small businesses. It enables users to create and send professional e-invoices in seconds, fully compliant with digital invoicing regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of backend features and services using Go (Golang), with a focus on correctness, maintainability, and performance.
- Work closely with product managers, product owners, designers, and frontend engineers to deliver user‑focused functionality.
- Implement new features while improving existing code through refactoring and small‑scale technical debt reduction.
- Apply established backend development best practices, including clean code, testing, and API design.
- Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand‑ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Take part in code reviews, both giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- Continuously grow your technical skills by learning from peers, experimenting with new tools, and staying current with backend development trends.
- Contribute to automated testing to ensure reliable and high‑quality software.
Skills:
- Backend software development experience: Experience building and maintaining production software as part of a product team. Prior experience with Go (Golang) is a plus, but not required; willingness to learn Go is essential.
- Cloud basics: Familiarity with running applications in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with guidance from more experienced engineers.
- CI/CD awareness: Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how they support modern software delivery.
- Engineering fundamentals: Solid grasp of software development basics such as APIs, data models, version control, and debugging.
- Growth mindset: Motivation to learn, improve, and gradually take on more complex challenges and ownership.
- Openness to AI assisted development: Willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity and code quality in daily work.
Competencies:
- Medior‑level experience in a cross‑functional product team
- Delivering features with guidance and increasing autonomy
- Applying agile development practices (Scrum or Kanban)
- Clear and constructive communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Continuous improvement through feedback and learning
What we offer
- Impactful Work: You’ll be working on the core of our application, directly influencing how accountants manage financial data.
- Technical Challenges: Build solutions that scale efficiently to handle millions of documents.
- Collaborative Team: Work closely with product, support, and operations teams to deliver the best possible solutions with excellent user experience.
- Small but Strong Team: We value close collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
