Point72’s Market Intelligence team is responsible for developing proprietary research products and providing data and research management services for investment teams to support their pursuit of superior, risk-adjusted returns. We leverage innovative alternative data sources, advanced data analytics and technologies, and deep fundamental research to create high-quality compliant and differentiated research. WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a data engineer intern focused on web scraping, you will help build solutions for processing big and unstructured data at Point72 and responsible for extracting and ingesting data from websites using Compliance-approved web crawling tools. During your time with us, you will gain exposure to:
• Creating scraping pipelines based on customer requests
• Developing tools, services, and workflows to enhance scrape development speed, efficiency, and stability
• Testing data and scrapes to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance
• Identifying and resolving scraping issues and breakages, as well as scaling scrapes as needed
• Partnering with compliance
WHAT’S REQUIRED
• A bachelor’s degree (or expected completion in 2026) in CS, Engineering, or other quantitative discipline
• Experience or demonstrated interest in web scraping
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, etc.)
• Strong experience in Python development
• Interest in working with data, big data problems, and cloud-based technologies
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Commitment to the highest ethical standards
