Design, analyze, integrate, and test propulsion and fluid-mechanical vehicle components from concept through flight demonstration. Support rapid hardware development, prototype assembly, test execution, failure investigations, DFM, and cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, analysis, and customers.

Manage near-term scheduling, sequencing, and execution tracking for assigned work centers. Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Material Control, Planning, and Programs to align MOs, resolve material and capacity constraints, update ERP (Odoo), maintain physical and digital queues, lead daily/weekly meetings, and support 0–12 month capacity planning and SIOP reporting. Serve as technical authority and vehicle architect for a hypersonic missile/interceptor program, leading systems engineering, cross-disciplinary integration, test and flight readiness, technical risk mitigation, and mentoring subsystem leads through design reviews to production readiness.

Serve as technical owner for an avionics product transitioning to production: support hardware delivery, troubleshoot electrical and manufacturing issues, execute acceptance testing, manage production schedules, coordinate cross-functional teams, maintain configuration and documentation, and drive manufacturability and quality improvements to meet customer and program commitments.

Own and execute the Master Production Schedule for an assigned propulsion segment: convert demand into capacity-feasible supply plans, release and sequence manufacturing orders, run MRP and resolve reschedules/shortages, maintain planning parameters and safety stock strategies, drive shortage root-cause resolution, participate in SIOP, and continuously improve planning to protect schedule attainment.

Lead system safety engineering for rocket propulsion systems: analyze hardware and schematics for hazards, maintain explosive and radiation safety programs, review test and operational procedures, coordinate with regulators and stakeholders, prepare safety assessments and reports, and embed safety controls throughout product lifecycle.

Lead sourcing, negotiating, and procuring capital equipment and indirect materials. Manage RFIs/RFQs/RFPs, supplier selection, contract terms, deliveries, and installations. Build supplier relationships, monitor performance, resolve issues, ensure compliant purchasing documentation, and identify cost-saving opportunities while partnering with Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, Finance, and Operations.

Lead system safety activities for propulsion systems: analyze hardware and schematics for hazards, maintain explosive safety program, review test and operations procedures, coordinate training and permits, conduct safety assessments, interact with stakeholders and regulators, and produce safety reports and briefs.

Develop and maintain time-phased demand plans across short- and long-range horizons for assigned programs. Reconcile inputs from Program Management, Business Development, and Finance, publish forecast accuracy/bias, lead monthly SIOP demand reviews, build scenarios, produce dashboards and deliver executable plans to Supply Planning while tracking assumptions, risks, and changes.

Provide broad legal and administrative support to the General Counsel and Legal team: maintain corporate records, support subpoenas/audits/litigation, manage IP administration, track contracts and filings (including LDA/PAC), implement document retention and process improvements, triage legal requests, manage calendaring, billing, and the contract management system.

Operate CNC equipment to machine aerospace components, program using Hypermill CAM, and manage machining projects while supporting shop operations.

Lead company-wide commercial and government sales and capture efforts for aerospace and defense markets. Develop strategy, grow pipeline, negotiate contracts, build executive relationships, and scale a high-performing sales and business development team while partnering cross-functionally to align programs and pricing.

Perform CFD and 1D lumped-parameter fluid analyses for rocket engines, predict component and system performance, build transient and steady models, support testing and anomaly investigations, recommend design improvements, and mentor peers to grow propulsion fluid-analysis capabilities.

Lead loads development and vehicle dynamics analysis for propulsion and vehicle programs. Develop load spectra for service life, verify and validate analytical models, anchor models to test data, support GFEM development, propagate loads to components, assess nonconforming hardware with manufacturing, and mentor peers while improving analytical methods and tools.

Support propellant development and analysis by installing, operating, and maintaining lab and analytical instrumentation; build hardware, data acquisition and fiber optic lines; run experiments, collect and document quality data; assist with maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and reporting; follow safety protocols for hazardous and explosive materials and participate in safety and cross-functional meetings.

The Senior Engineer, Propulsion Systems at Ursa Major will lead propulsion system design, integration, and testing for hypersonic vehicles, requiring strong technical skills and collaboration across engineering disciplines.

Partner with hiring managers to develop requisitions and sourcing strategies, actively source and screen technical candidates, manage ATS records, guide candidates through interviews, build talent pipelines, and promote diversity and inclusion while improving recruiting processes and metrics.

Lead architecture, design, and verification of mixed-signal avionics hardware and FPGA/ASIC RTL for flight-critical systems. Own full product lifecycle from requirements, schematic and PCB work through FPGA implementation, timing closure, verification, qualification, and production release. Support avionics integration, testing, reliability analyses, and ground test support.

Lead architecture, integration, and lifecycle sustainment of propulsion test infrastructure including test stands, fluid systems, GSE, controls, and DAQ. Provide technical leadership for test campaigns, safety analysis, cross-functional coordination, mentoring, and long-term facility modernization to ensure safe, repeatable, decision-grade testing.

Prepare and review SEC-compliant financials, execute ASC 606 revenue recognition journal entries, analyze inventory costing and technical accounting issues, collaborate cross-functionally, maintain process documentation and internal controls, support external audits, and perform ad hoc analyses and long-term projects.
