The Firearms Specialist will manage firearm sales compliance, assist customers in the Sporting Goods Department, and maintain accurate records.

Assist customers in the Sporting Goods department, handle pricing, stocking, receiving and cycle counts, and ensure compliance with FFL and ATF regulations. Complete and maintain accurate firearm sale records (4473s, A&D logs), train staff on firearms paperwork and procedures, and prepare the store for audits.

Provide customer service, price and stock merchandise, receive freight, perform cycle counts, and maintain store readiness for ATF/internal audits. Train and enforce FFL compliance: A&D logs, 4473 handling (denied/no-transfer, filing, corrections), multiple handgun sales recording, acceptable IDs, sale refusals, and straw sale identification.

Participate in a structured retail leadership development program supporting store operations, team coaching, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, and basic financial metrics. Learn recruiting, onboarding, loss prevention, and safety procedures while working flexible hours and assisting store and district leadership to prepare for management roles.

Participate in a structured retail leadership development program supporting store operations, team coaching, customer service, inventory and merchandising, basic financial/operational metrics, recruiting/onboarding, and safety/loss prevention to prepare for supervisory and management roles.

Train alongside store and district leaders to prepare for roles such as Assistant Manager or Store Manager.

Participate in a structured retail leadership development program, supporting store operations, coaching and developing teams, delivering excellent customer service, learning inventory and merchandising, interpreting basic financial metrics, and assisting with recruiting, safety, and loss prevention to prepare for management roles.

Provide customer service and sales support for firearms and ammunition, perform background checks, ensure legal and ATF compliance, assist with inventory, merchandising, and documentation, and educate customers on safe usage and responsible ownership.

Review customer sales tax exemption forms for completeness, follow up on incomplete forms, file forms electronically, complete exemption setup in the system within 5-7 days, and communicate with customers and store personnel as needed. May perform other assigned duties.

The Sales Associate assists customers by providing excellent service, managing transactions, handling merchandise, and maintaining store appearance. Duties include greeting customers, cashier responsibilities, and stock management.
