Process, audit, and reconcile US and Canadian payrolls (salaried and union), maintain compliance, audit time-tracking (UKG), support Workday/tax reporting, produce payroll and financial reports, and recommend process improvements.

Serve as UKG subject-matter expert to configure, maintain, and optimize UKG Pro/Dimensions time and attendance systems. Build integrations, design reports, support end users, run audits/upgrades, liaise with vendors, and implement scalable solutions aligned with union contracts and business needs.

Support skilled workers in steel fabrication by moving, staging, and handling materials; assist with cutting, welding, grinding; prepare and clean work areas; maintain tools and report hazards while following safety protocols and wearing PPE in industrial environments.

Supervise electrical maintenance for an assigned area, manage and schedule the maintenance team, coordinate with operations and general maintenance, prioritize corrective work orders, ensure quality and safety, and oversee power distribution, drives, PLC/DCS, instrumentation, and CMMS activities.

Supervise licensed electricians and apprentices, ensure proper permits and inspections, plan and design electrical installations, develop maintenance and CAPEX plans and budgets, coordinate inspections and corrective actions, manage KPIs, and act as site electrical subject-matter-expert and asset maintenance coordinator.

Lead asset reliability and maintenance initiatives at a Calgary manufacturing facility: develop and improve an Asset Management Plan, perform root cause analysis, implement predictive maintenance (thermography, ultrasonic, vibration), support capital projects, standardize equipment/spares, analyze failure data, train maintenance staff, and identify cost-reduction opportunities to improve uptime and reduce total cost of ownership.

Lead monthly close activities, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, record intercompany transactions, support audits, produce financial statements and ad-hoc reports, and ensure GAAP/IFRS compliance and internal controls.

Supervise and train yard, non-ferrous, and warehouse staff to meet daily processing and quality goals. Oversee safe, efficient operation of shredders and mobile equipment, maintain inventory accuracy, coordinate shipments, enforce safety and EHS procedures, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Lead and supervise mill production teams to meet targets while maintaining safety and quality. Machine, disassemble, assemble, inspect and repair parts for heavy-industry equipment using lathes, mills, grinders and drill presses. Read blueprints, perform precision measurements and critical alignments, handle materials, follow LOTO and safety procedures (OSHA10), assist maintenance, and perform heavy lifting. Obtain required certifications and demonstrate proficiency through testing.

Operate and supervise the 80" Hot Strip Rolling Mill, lead and coordinate mill workforce, ensure safety and product quality, perform inspections, troubleshoot operations, and implement process improvements.

Support HR operations as the primary employee contact for HR administration and payroll. Act as Workday and Kronos super user for training, reporting, data integrity, and process improvement. Manage leave of absence administration, maintain personnel files, ensure regulatory compliance, run HR reports, and complete ad hoc research and projects.
