ARB Interactive
ARB Interactive Innovation & Technology Culture
Frequently Asked Questions
Innovation isn't a separate initiative at ARB Interactive, it's baked into how we operate every day. We're leading the social+ gaming space, and our track record backs that up. We were the first to launch Modo Stars and expand our social+ games across 49 states, and this year we launched Modo Boxes, adding a new layer of entertainment for our players.
We're always looking for ways to do digital entertainment differently rather than following the same playbook as everyone else. That mindset, building what doesn't exist yet instead of copying what already does, is what keeps us ahead in the space.
ARB's technology stack is built on modern infrastructure and tools, not legacy systems we're stuck maintaining. We run on cloud infrastructure instead of on-premise servers, which keeps us flexible as the business scales. On the engineering side, we build with modern programming languages like TypeScript, along with modern frontend frameworks like React and meta frameworks like Next.js and TanStack Start.
That combination means engineers are working with current, in-demand tools rather than outdated systems, and it keeps ARB positioned to adopt new technology as it emerges instead of being boxed in by older infrastructure.
We move fast on experimentation, slower and more deliberately on production. New tools and hyped technology are fair game to try out and see how they actually perform, we're not afraid to poke at something new. But getting into production is a different bar. Given the load our systems handle, a tool needs to prove itself first.
Some tools have a great developer experience but just don't hold up at scale, and we'd rather catch that in testing than in production. That mix, fast to explore, careful about what actually ships, means we get the benefit of staying current without taking on unnecessary risk with the systems our players depend on.
Our technology culture runs on trust but verify. Engineers have real autonomy to move fast, from writing code locally to shipping it to production, without getting stuck waiting on layers of approval. We trust people to do the right thing.
But autonomy doesn't mean no accountability. We verify, too, so responsibility is shared rather than resting on blind trust alone. That balance is what lets engineers move quickly without tipping into carelessness.
