Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is one of the most valuable corporations in India, with a market capitalization exceeding $160 billion. Operating under Tata Group, the nation’s largest conglomerate, the IT company offers cloud computing, app development, cybersecurity and data analytics software solutions for a range of industries, from healthcare to retail. TCS is headquartered in Mumbai, but it has a large office in Gurgaon along with several other offices throughout the country.


Although Microsoft is headquartered in the United States, it has more than 20,000 employees working at across 10 corporate offices in India, one of which is located in Gurgaon. A household name in software, the company is world-renowned for its diverse selection of products, from its workplace collaboration tool Teams to its enduringly popular slideshow presentation program PowerPoint. It is also an important figure in web search, generative AI and gaming.


With a market capitalization of nearly $2 trillion, Google is among the most valuable tech companies in the world. Not only has it developed the most popular search engine, but it is also a key innovator in cloud computing, advertising and artificial intelligence — most notably with its popular AI voice assistant and Gemini chatbot, both of which have pushed the boundaries of conversational AI and natural language generation. Google’s second-largest employee base outside of the United States is in India, where it maintains four offices, including one in Gurgaon.


IBM is a global provider of software, hardware, cloud infrastructure and various IT services. It is also a trailblazer in emerging tech fields like blockchain, quantum computing and artificial general intelligence. Meta is the company behind Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and a long list of other popular social media and communication apps. True to its name, it also innovates in virtual reality and other technology related to building the metaverse, a more immersive version of the internet. The California-based company has a presence in Bangalore, Hyderabad, New Delhi and Mumbai. In 2021 it also opened a location in Gurgaon — its first standalone office in Asia — which spans about 130,000 square feet across six floors.


Based in Pune, Tech Mahindra employs about 100,000 people across nearly a dozen offices throughout India, including one in Gurgaon. The consulting company provides businesses with IT services like cloud adoption, experience design and networking, as well as software services for industries ranging from banking to media. In 2013, Tech Mahindra became the fifth-largest software company in the country after finalizing a merger with Indian tech giant Satyam. 


Global media icon The Walt Disney Company is responsible for some of the most iconic movies over the past century, including The Lion King, Mulan and the Marvel franchise. In 2019 the company merged with Hotstar, India’s largest streaming platform, through a $71 billion acquisition of 21st Century Fox. That led to the formation of Disney+ Hotstar, which features domestic Indian film, television and sports content. Disney has offices throughout India, including one in Gurgaon.

Siemens is a German tech conglomerate that develops automation, cybersecurity and digital transformation solutions, primarily serving the healthcare, transportation, energy and manufacturing industries. Founded in 1847, the company has had a presence in India since 1967, according to its website, where it has various Centres of Competence and R&D facilities, as well as a nationwide sales network. Siemens Digital Industries Software, its Texas-based software subsidiary, also has a regional headquarters in Gurgaon. 


Valued at more than $72 billion, Infosys is one of the largest tech companies in India. It offers a range of services, including DevOps, custom app development, cybersecurity and cloud migration and deployment. It also builds software to assist companies with their marketing, customer engagement and other business functions. Infosys has many offices throughout India, including one in Gurgaon’s Uniworld Towers.

Zomato is a Gurgaon-based food delivery company and restaurant aggregator, serving dozens of cities throughout India. Its platform allows customers to search for local restaurants, read and write reviews, order food delivery, book a table and make payments while dining out in restaurants. Zomato also serves as a marketing tool for restaurants, allowing them to engage with customers and provide reliable last-mile delivery service.


Oracle is one of the most prominent software companies in the world, perhaps best known for its relational database management system, MySQL.
