Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories is a multinational pharmaceutical company based in Hyderabad. Specializing in areas like diabetology, gastro-enterology and dermatology, the company makes active pharmaceutical ingredients, generics, branded generics, biosimilars and over-the-counter drugs for more than half a billion people around the world, according to its website. While most of Dr. Reddy’s 25,000-person team is located in India, the company has expanded its operations to markets like Russia, the Middle East, Europe and the United States, where it is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

 

Abbott offers a range of healthcare services, including diagnostics, nutrition, generic medicines and medical devices. The company was named for its U.S. headquarters in Abbott Park, Illinois, but it also has a large presence in Mumbai. In addition to its product development, manufacturing, sales and customer service teams, Abbott’s India office has in-house development and medical teams, which undertake product and clinical development tailored to meet the unique demands of the Indian market, according to its website.

 

Sun Pharmaceutical is reportedly India’s largest drug maker by revenue. The Mumbai-based company manufactures and markets generic and specialty medicines that target a wide variety of chronic and acute conditions, specifically in areas like dermatology, psychiatry, ophthalmology and oncology. Apollo Hospitals is a multinational healthcare group headquartered in Chennai. With more than 70 hospitals throughout India, it operates one of the largest private healthcare networks in the country. The company also oversees thousands of pharmacies, primary care and diagnostic centers, telehealth clinics and digital healthcare services through its subsidiaries.

 

Lupin is a multinational pharmaceutical company headquartered in Mumbai. As one of the largest drug-makers in the country, its key focus areas include pediatrics, anti-infectives, asthma and tuberculosis treatments. From its seven R&D facilities, Lupin handles the entire pharma product chain, from biotechnology research to intellectual property management. All told, the company’s drugs reach more than 100 countries, covering prominent markets like Europe, the United States and Japan, as well as emerging markets like the Philippines and South America.

Wockhardt is a Mumbai-based pharmaceutical and biotechnology company that produces formulations, biopharmaceuticals, vaccines, nutrition products and active pharmaceutical ingredients. Besides India, the company has manufacturing plants in the UK, Ireland, France and the United States, as well as subsidiaries in each region. 

 

Manipal Hospitals is the second-largest hospital chain in India, according to its website, operating more than 33 multi-speciality locations in more than a dozen cities. Max Healthcare is one of India’s largest healthcare organizations.
