The intern will support ACLU attorneys through legal research, memoranda, correspondence, factual investigation, discovery, trial preparation, litigation development, amicus briefs, court proceedings, and legislative advocacy. The role provides hands-on experience applying constitutional theories and case law to civil rights and civil liberties matters. Interns must work full time for 11 weeks and may attend in-person events across Virginia.

Purchases subcontractor and vendor services for construction projects. Oversee and lead the Accounts Payable function for U.S. and Canadian entities, including invoice processing, vendor payments, reconciliations, month-end close, accruals, compliance documentation, 1099 reporting, refunds, and internal controls. Supervise a 2–3-person team, coordinate with Accounting, Purchasing, Collections, and vendors, resolve discrepancies, provide reporting, and improve AP processes and workflows.

Generate new leads through phone, email, and social media outreach; conduct consultative conversations and needs assessments; explain Smarty solutions; maintain CRM records; coordinate appointments, demos, and introductions; attend occasional trade shows and conferences; and support sales-team success.

Own strategic client relationships for public sector employee benefits programs, lead implementations, renewals, open enrollment, compliance, and vendor/carrier management to drive retention and long‑term value.

Acts as a finance liaison for business units, overseeing programs and managing end-to-end business case activities. Provides pricing guidance, scenario modeling, variance analysis, KPI reporting, risk and opportunity tracking, and actionable recommendations. Supports customer claims, audits, compliance, budget reviews, and financial performance monitoring while representing Finance in cross-functional initiatives and leadership discussions.

Leads drainage engineering, stormwater modeling, permitting, and transportation design projects. Manages INDOT and local agency road projects, budgets, schedules, stakeholders, subcontractors, quality control, and technical issues. Oversees and mentors engineering and inspection staff, reviews deliverables and invoices, supports proposal development and client strategies, and coordinates project administration and documentation.

Research and identify technical and quantitative finance candidates through professional networks and niche platforms. Build talent-market maps, maintain candidate relationships, conduct Boolean searches, create personalized outreach, track sourcing outcomes, and keep ATS records accurate. The role requires strong communication, analytical thinking, attention to detail, curiosity, and comfort in a fast-moving office environment.
