Spectrum seeks a dedicated Vertical Account Manager, Government and Education to nurture and expand connections with government and education clients. In this field-based role, you will manage assigned accounts, drive revenue growth and champion customer satisfaction. Your efforts will directly enhance Spectrum's presence and impact in critical markets.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Manage day-to-day relationships with assigned government and education accounts to drive retention and growth
- Identify and secure upsell opportunities for fiber-based services and transition clients from coax to fiber solutions
- Conduct regular face-to-face meetings and account reviews to renew existing contracts and capture new sales
- Serve as the primary advocate for assigned customers, ensuring satisfaction across Spectrum departments
- Collaborate with internal teams to address customer inquiries and resolve issues through written and verbal communications
- Maintain accurate customer information in internal databases while supporting regulatory contract tracking
- Stay current on Spectrum's pricing, procedures and sales promotions through ongoing training

Required Qualifications
Skills
- Successful history of B2B selling
- Proven cold calling (prospecting / door knocking) for new clients
- Hunter mindset to existing Government/Education customers and negotiate new, renewed, or amended contracts
- Must have proven ability to consistently meet monthly quota
- Proven presentation ability required since they develop customer-centric solutions and deliver sales proposals on product features and benefits
- Proven verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Attend all sales meetings and training sessions as required by management
- Ability to travel 30% of the time (including during inclement weather) to and from assigned territories and company facilities using a reliable personal vehicle
- Valid and active State driver's license and safe driving record required
Preferred Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university preferred, ideally in a business-related field
Experience
- 5+ years of vertical account sales or management experience
- 3+ years of experience in state or local government and education verticals
- 2+ years of outside telecommunications sales with a proven track record of successfully exceeding sales objectives, preferably selling data, voice, and/or video solutions in the telecommunications business-to-business industry
Skills
- Proven sales ability of data, voice, cloud and/or video solutions within industry or
- Premise-Based Voice and Data product sales
- Has the aptitude to learn the product suite and the "Charter way"
- Demonstrated proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint

The base pay for this position generally is between
$47,800.00 and $79,100.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
In addition, this position has a commission earnings target starting at
$71,400.
