Job Summary:
As part of Ascot’s Operations Support Center (“ASC”), the Underwriting Support Assistant Level 1 will report to the Operations manager. Their primary responsibility is to support and manage workflows between multiple departments, by preparing renewals, managing correspondence filing, and handling other miscellaneous functions, as needed. The Underwriting Support Assistant will collaborate with underwriting and operations to support the business units in a consistent and timely manner. This role is based in the Ridgeland, MS office.
Responsibilities:
- Master two core responsibilities to provide support for multi-lines products areas. This includes, but is not limited to:
- submission clearance
- processing dead accounts
- quality checks
- renewal preparations
- correspondence filing
- Responsible for data entry, analyzing, and validating data to ensure quality
- Support the Operations Technical Specialists and other colleagues as needed
- Participate in special projects as requested, and perform additional assignments as instructed by the manager
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of related work experience, preferably in an office setting
- Associate’s degree preferred; High School Diploma required
- Experience in the insurance industry is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work on a team, meet deadlines, and successfully perform in a changing, fast-paced work environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter and focused eye for detail and accuracy
- Effective time management and organizational skills
