As a Technical Consultant at Vertafore, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering value to our clients by implementing technical configurations and offering tailored solutions to their business challenges. Your expertise will shape and enhance the experiences of our key clients, fostering strong relationships and contributing to the future growth of our team.
Working collaboratively across departments such as Customer Support, Account Management, Professional Services, and Product Management, you'll guide clients through their journey with us, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded. As part of a dynamic cross-functional team, you'll need to be proactive, adaptable, and service-oriented to excel in our fast-paced environment.
Delving into the technical intricacies of implementations will be your forte, and you'll relish the opportunity to devise innovative tools, processes, and solutions to tackle complex problems head-on. Consultant IIs will further enhance their expertise, applying deep product knowledge to address unique customer scenarios and identify best practices that can drive effectiveness across the board.
Core Responsibilities:
Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:
- Configuring the Surefyre platform to meet our customers’ needs through technical configuration using HTML, JavaScript and JSON
- Building JSON based forms using our drag and drop form builder and advanced edits to the JSON schema
- Writing python scripts to assist in data migrations, import, export or advanced configuration for customers
- Assisting in integrations with third party systems using REST and SOAP APIs
- Setting up excel based worksheets to aid in calculations for the Surefyre platform
- Work closely with product & engineering teams to help drive changes to the product to ease configuration tasks
- Work with the engineering team to assist in technical configurations such as advanced integrations
- Work with Professional Services to understand needs of a customer project and changes that are needed to their Surefyre instance
- Reproduce issues customers see with their configuration and help resolve these issues
- Documenting changes that were made to customer instances
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work within a team in a collaborative manner
· Willingness to learn new technologies and experiment with innovation
· Self-starter who is detail-oriented, quick-learner, deadline-driven and can manage shifting priorities
· Strategic problem solver with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
· Proactively acquires new skills and learns new tools and technologies to troubleshoot complex issues.
· Fluent in web coding languages including HTML, CSS and JavaScript
· Technical knowledge of configuration syntax such as JSON or YAML
· Experience with editing and creating PDF files
· Experience with Microsoft excel including advanced features and formulas
· Experience using or working with enterprise B2B software
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in computer related field
· 3+ years experience in B2B software industry
· 3+ years in technical configuration or QA role
· Programming experience in at least one development language
· Experience with a template language such as Jinja2
· Knowledge of APIs and experience with Postman
· Knowledge of API authentication mechanisms such as OAuth, API Tokens, Basic Auth, etc.

· Travel required up to 10% of the time.

The Professional Services (PS) and Customer Success (CX) bonus plans are a quarterly monetary bonus plan based upon individual and practice performance against specific business metrics. Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date, good standing in the company, and actives status at time of payout.

Skills Required
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in a technical, customer-focused environment
