- Perform deep root cause analysis, document findings clearly, and drive corrective/preventative actions to closure.
Build, Packaging, and Delivery Tooling (USS Ecosystem)
- Troubleshoot and improve USS-related delivery workflows and tools (e.g., software integration, packaging, distribution, and release enablement).
- Improve reliability and velocity of build and release pipelines through automation, better diagnostics, and reduction of recurring failure modes.
- Contribute to improvements in internal developer tooling used for validation, testing, and delivery (including CI/CD workflow enhancements).
- Build and maintain automation and orchestration solutions using technologies such as Ansible and Kubernetes (as applicable to the platform).
- Strengthen operational readiness with improved logging, observability hooks, and automated verification.
Security & Quality Engineering
- Address security-related issues including vulnerability remediation, dependency updates, and policy-driven improvements (e.g., CAST findings).
- Apply sound software engineering principles and testing practices to ensure stable, maintainable outcomes.
Collaboration & Engineering Standards
- Work effectively across teams and time zones to coordinate issue resolution, design decisions, and delivery timelines.
- Contribute to the team’s best practices by staying informed on community/industry trends and helping establish standards internally (coding, testing, release hygiene, documentation).
- BS and/or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 8+ years of experience developing systems software.
- Strong experience with Linux (installation, administration, utilities, troubleshooting).
