Job Purpose and Impact
The Senior Software Engineer - Pricefx Configuration will design, configure, develop and support scalable Pricefx solutions within Cargill's commercial technology ecosystem. In this role, you will translate pricing strategies and complex business requirements into maintainable calculation logic, data structures, workflows, integrations and user experiences that enable Cargill's go-to-market strategy. You will apply deep Pricefx and software engineering knowledge to deliver secure, resilient and high-performing solutions, bring clarity to ambiguous scenarios, and raise engineering standards across the pricing technology community.
Key Accountabilities
- Configure and enhance Pricefx solutions using Groovy, Pricefx APIs, and reusable calculation logic.
- Translate pricing requirements into solutions related to price setting, quoting, agreements, rebates, promotions, analytics, and optimization.
- Design pricing models including margins, markups, discounts, segmentation, price waterfalls, currency conversions, and pricing controls.
- Configure and manage Pricefx data structures such as Products, Customers, Data Sources, Datamarts, Extension Tables, and Rollups.
- Develop dashboards, workflows, approval processes, and user-friendly pricing tools.
- Design scalable and maintainable solution architectures, including data mapping and technical documentation.
- Integrate Pricefx with enterprise platforms such as SAP, Salesforce, ERP, CRM, and analytics systems through REST APIs and JSON-based integrations.
- Optimize system performance and large-volume calculations using SQL, QueryAPI, DatamartContext, efficient queries, and data-processing best practices.
- Apply security standards, role-based access controls, and secure configuration practices.
- Develop, test, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain Pricefx solutions using Pricefx Studio and IntelliJ IDEA.
- Implement automated testing, CI/CD processes, version control with Git, and deployment best practices.
- Lead code reviews, provide technical guidance, and ensure high standards for quality, maintainability, performance, and security.
- Collaborate with product owners, pricing teams, architects, and technology leaders to define solutions and deliver business value.
- Support agile delivery practices, continuous improvement initiatives, and long-term platform evolution.
- Resolve complex production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.

Qualifications
Minimum (Must Have)
- Strong Groovy development experience (or Java/JVM development with the ability to quickly work in Groovy).
- Experience developing or configuring Pricefx solutions.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data modeling.
- Experience designing and troubleshooting REST API and JSON-based integrations.
- Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
- Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, debugging, and production support.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Pricefx certification, training, or implementation experience.
- Experience with Pricefx Studio, IntelliJ IDEA, QueryAPI, DatamartContext, and deployment tools.
- Experience in Pricefx modules such as Price Setting, CPQ/Quoting, Rebates, Promotions, Analytics, or Optimization.
- Experience integrating with SAP, Salesforce, ERP, or CRM platforms.
- Knowledge of B2B pricing concepts such as margins, discounts, segmentation, and price waterfalls.
- Experience delivering SaaS solutions in large enterprise environments.
- Experience working with global, cross-functional Agile teams.
