The Role
About us

Founded in 2019 and part of Y Combinator's 2020 cohort, Photoroom is the leading visual solution for e-commerce.
We've raised Series B funding and reached 300+ million users worldwide, processing over 5 billion images annually and serving both small businesses and major enterprises like Amazon, DoorDash, and Decathlon through our mobile app, web platform, and API.
We're a remote-friendly team of 100+ passionate builders giving e-commerce businesses superpowers to create visuals that help them grow, making the hardest parts of selling online disappear. We focus on craft, innovation, and collaboration, creating exceptional impact for e-commerce businesses worldwide.

Role Summary

We're looking for a freelance Social Media Manager to help grow Photoroom's presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and emerging channels.

We're looking for someone who can spot stories, turn insights into content, and help establish Photoroom as the authority on visual commerce.

You'll work closely with our Brand and Marketing teams to turn customer stories, product launches, industry insights, reports, founder perspectives, and creative experiments into content people actually want to engage with.

We are looking for someone to work 2-3 days per week with us, at a daily rate of $400-650.

About the Role
  • Own the day-to-day execution of our social media calendar

  • Develop content ideas that align with our brand, product launches, customer stories, and industry trends

  • Transform a single piece of source material into multiple content formats:

    • A report becomes a carousel

    • A webinar becomes a short-form video

    • A customer story becomes a LinkedIn post

    • A founder interview becomes a content series

  • Write sharp, platform-native copy across LinkedIn, Instagram, X, TikTok, and other channels

  • Work with designers, marketers, and stakeholders to move content from idea to publication

  • Manage approvals, timelines, and changing priorities without letting details slip

  • Monitor performance and identify opportunities to improve engagement, reach, and audience growth

  • Bring new ideas, formats, creators, and AI-powered workflows to the table

About You
  • Are based in either New York City or Paris

  • Proven experience growing and managing large social media accounts for brands, startups, or agencies

  • Strong understanding of what performs across different social platforms

  • Comfortable creating content for a B2B audience, especially business owners, operators, entrepreneurs, and people who sell online

  • Experienced with AI tools and workflows; and know Canva and Capcut like the back of your hand

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Bonus points if you've built a side business, sold products online, or worked in e-commerce

  • Curious, proactive, and able to operate with a high degree of ownership

  • Comfortable working remotely and asynchronously

AI-native mindset

We're looking for someone who is genuinely excited about AI.

You actively use AI tools to improve your workflow, whether that's for research, copywriting, content ideation, creative production, editing, or automation. You're constantly experimenting and have strong opinions about what's changing in marketing and content creation.

Good taste matters

You don't need to be a designer, but you have strong creative instincts.

You can recognize great content when you see it. You understand visual storytelling, know what feels premium versus generic, and can give thoughtful feedback on creative work.

Bonus points if you've run your own business, side hustle, or online store. We believe the best social marketers understand the people they're speaking to, and many of our customers are entrepreneurs building businesses from scratch. If that's you, we'd love to hear your story.

Hiring Process

That's also why we have flexible working hours, trust people to work remotely, and extended parental leave.
