🏥 About Marble Health

Marble is building the operating system for youth mental health, connecting schools, therapists, families, and payers to deliver effective care to kids who need it most. We’re growing 40% MoM, just raised our Series A ($15.5M led by Inspired Capital), and are expanding rapidly beyond New York.

Our platform integrates scheduling, communication, documentation, billing, and more – all to reduce friction for providers and improve care for kids. We're on a mission to empower a healthier, happier generation, and we're just getting started.

⭐ Role Overview

We’re looking for a senior backend leaning engineer to help scale Marble’s care delivery platform for youth mental health. This is a critical role for someone excited to build the infrastructure, systems, and processes that power everything from billing to therapist workflows — while helping us scale responsibly and sustainably.

You’ll be a technical leader focused on our revenue cycle management (RCM) systems, platform architecture, and backend engineering excellence. You’ll own a high-leverage surface area that directly impacts our ability to grow, and help build a world-class engineering culture from the ground up.

💻 What You’ll Do

Own and evolve Marble’s RCM / billing systems

  • Build and maintain the systems that ensure Marble gets paid. This includes everything from payer integrations to claims submission, reimbursement flows, and reporting. RCM is a core pillar of our business, and you'll own it end-to-end.

Build core platform infrastructure

  • As we move from a single monolith to a more scalable architecture, you’ll help lead the design and implementation of our platform foundation—including event-driven systems, internal tooling, data pipelines, and DevX / infra improvements.

Up-level engineering standards and provide mentorship

  • Be a senior voice on the team. Mentor engineers, set the standard for clean, maintainable code and champion best practices. Mentor teammates and help grow a strong, thoughtful engineering culture.

Be a cross-functional partner

  • Collaborate closely with product, operations, and clinical teams to ensure our systems support real-world needs—and that we build with empathy for the humans using our tools.

✅ Qualifications

Requirements

  • 6+ years of backend or platform engineering experience
  • Deep expertise in building reliable, scalable backend systems
  • Hands on experience with platform infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines & IaC tooling (such as Terraform, AWS CDK, etc.)
  • NYC based & able to come into our SOHO office 2+ days a week

Bonus

  • Prior startup or early-stage experience is strongly preferred, but not required
  • Prior experience in the healthtech space
  • Strong full stack experience
  • Expertise with the Node.js ecosystem

🎯 Marble Traits

🏃 Relentless Drive

  • You’re the hardest worker in the room who takes full responsibility for outcomes and tackles any task, no matter how small.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Introspective Team Player

  • You invest in relationships and team morale while actively seeking feedback and self-evaluating to continuously improve.

🧭 Operationally Excellent

  • You communicate clearly, think logically, and execute efficiently & effectively.

🧩 Role Traits

🕵️ Detective – Problem Solving

  • You get to the root of problems. You follow the trail, ask sharp questions, use every resource available, and don’t stop until you're confident it’s truly solved.

♟️ Chess Master – Analytical Thinking

  • You focus on high-impact initiatives and say "no" to distractions. This includes balancing short-term wins with long-term vision, making tough trade-off decisions with limited resources, and maintaining focus on what truly matters.

🦎 Chameleon – Adaptability

  • You move seamlessly between priorities, technologies, and parts of the stack — from low-level implementation to high-level strategy.

🧑‍🏫 Teacher – Collaboration & Mentorship

  • You bring others with you. You share context, give thoughtful feedback, and raise the bar for the whole team.

What We Do

Marble Health is building the operating system for youth mental health. A platform that connects schools, therapists, health plans, and families - who all have incentives to provide truly effective care to kids struggling with their mental health. Our mission is simple but ambitious: make it dramatically easier for young people to get the mental health care they need, and provide the products that make that care truly effective - ultimately enabling a happier & healthier generation of young people.

We’re reimagining how care can work when all the people who want to help are truly connected. Families, who are being devastated by this crisis; Schools, whose budgets are being affecting; Therapists, who want to help but struggle with the complexities of our healthcare system; and Insurance payers, who are paying the price when kids don't receive care. They all have incentives to fix this problem, but historically have been completely siloed. We're changing that.

And we're not stopping there. We're also defining the new era of behavioral healthcare with AI at the center. We’re creating what we think of as a “therapist Ironman suite” — a set of AI-powered tools, support systems, coaching, and resources that make clinicians better at their work. We’re building AI capabilities to elevate care quality at scale, from assisting with documentation to providing real-time guidance during sessions. We’re exploring how AI can act as a therapy copilot for students themselves, giving them resources and support between sessions.

By pairing a connected care network with cutting-edge AI, we’re aiming to set a new standard for how mental health care is delivered.

Why Work With Us

Our founders built unicorn behavioral health startup Headway, and our team shares a relentless drive, operational excellence, and a team-first mindset. We work closely with therapists, students, families, and schools — and are uniquely positioned to lead AI innovation in youth mental health care at scale.
