As a Senior Revenue Accountant at Strata, you'll own critical revenue and accounts receivable processes for a rapidly growing financial technology company. Your work directly supports month-end close, audit readiness, and business decision-making across Finance, Sales, and Operations.
Why This Role Matters at Strata:
Strata is in a growth phase, which means our financial close speed, data accuracy, and revenue recognition rigor directly enable M&A strategy, financial reporting, and operational decisions. This role is the backbone of that—you'll see the direct impact of your work within weeks.

Revenue & Contract Accounting
- Evaluate customer contracts and collaborate with Sales to ensure Salesforce opportunities map accurately to company revenue recognition policy and ASC 606 requirements
- Prepare and maintain contract deferred revenue schedules, as well as commission accounting and performance obligation tracking
- Record revenue-related journal entries and resolve revenue recognition inquiries from internal stakeholders
- Build financial analysis and support materials for revenue audits and accounting reviews
General Ledger & Month-End Close
- Own reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, particularly accounts receivable, contract assets, deferred revenue, and related accruals
- Prepare and maintain recurring journal entries; coordinate month-end close timeline and deliverables
- Prepare revenue related disclosures for financial reporting
- Support year-end close acceleration and audit readiness efforts, including documentation compilation and automation projects
Systems & Data Integrity
- Validate Salesforce-to-NetSuite revenue workflows; escalate system issues and recommend process improvements
- Review revenue arrangements in NetSuite and compare to revenue arrangements to ensure proper revenue recognition within NetSuite
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Enterprise Applications on system automation and integration work
- Support Sales Ops on subscription billing, contract interpretation, and revenue cycle questions
- Work with Growth and Payroll on commission work
- Contribute to special projects and ad hoc analysis as assigned
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 3 years in public accounting or a corporate accounting environment with demonstrable expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition or contract accounting
- Solid foundation in GAAP and comfort with balance sheet accounting (AR, deferred revenue, accruals)
- Advanced Excel proficiency and familiarity with AI tools
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, or similar enterprise systems; comfort learning new tools quickly
- CPA license, preferred
- Track record of spotting inefficiencies and recommending process improvements
- Experience in SaaS revenue recognition (subscriptions, multi-year contracts, usage-based billing)
- Experience working in a SOX environment
