Job Description SummaryThe Senior Legal & Compliance Leader – LATAM provides strategic and hands-on legal and compliance support to the Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx) business across Latin America. Acting as a trusted business partner, the role supports commercial growth, complex transactions, and strategic initiatives while ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and GE Healthcare policies.
We are looking for a dynamic professional who combines hands-on transactional expertise with strategic leadership. The role requires ability to execute on day-to-day legal and compliance matters while representing the function within the PDx LATAM Leadership Team.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, this role manages complex, high-risk and high-value matters, advises senior business leaders, and contributes to regional and global legal and compliance priorities. The position does not have direct people management responsibility but plays a leadership role through influence, governance participation, and cross functional collaboration.

Compliance, Regulatory & Governance

  • Act as a business partner to the LATAM team by providing pragmatic, risk-based legal and compliance advice across key areas including healthcare compliance, anti‑bribery and corruption, competition/antitrust, data protection, trade compliance, government interactions, engagement with trade associations and other relevant regulatory areas.
  • Serve as the primary advisor on interactions with government officials, public sector customers, and participation in industry associations, ensuring alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business activities, providing clear and actionable guidance to stakeholders.
  • Support the development, implementation and maintenance of a strong culture of compliance across the LATAM region, including participation in and support of compliance projects, communications, trainings, and governance forums (e.g., Compliance Review Boards), and engagement with healthcare professionals and industry stakeholders across LATAM.
  • Advise on internal investigations, audits, and compliance matters, ensuring effective remediation, consistent documentation, appropriate escalation and follow‑up actions.
  • Partner closely with global and regional compliance specialists to ensure consistent application of GE Healthcare compliance frameworks.
  • Support third‑party risk management activities, including onboarding, due diligence and ongoing oversight of distributors, agents and other third parties.

Projects, Disputes & Strategic Initiatives

  • Support regional and global projects, including business development initiatives, restructurings, and other strategic programs from a compliance and regulatory risk perspective.
  • Provide targeted legal support in key areas such as government contracting, interactions with public entities, and participation in trade associations, as needed.
  • Collaborate with the LATAM Litigation Lead counsel ensuring appropriate alignment on risk, strategy, escalation and compliance considerations.
  • Contribute to regional and global legal and compliance initiatives, including process improvements and standardisation efforts.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with senior business leaders and cross‑functional partners.
  • Exercise sound judgment consistent with GE Healthcare’s risk appetite, values and ethical standards.
  • Act as a role model for integrity, ethics and compliance, reinforcing GE Healthcare’s culture, behaviours and compliance mindset.
  • Participate, as required, in regional or global governance and leadership forums.

Requirements:

  • Law degree (Bachelor of Laws, or equivalent legal qualification).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Legal and Compliance roles, preferably within a multinational or highly regulated environment.
  • Fluent English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate Spanish proficiency.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide practical, risk-based legal and compliance advice to business stakeholders.
  • Proven capability to manage complex legal and compliance matters in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical Industry
