Job Summary
The incumbent will act as strategic enabler for their assigned Business function/s. He/she will be responsible for leading the implementation and development of the overall people strategy for their assigned business unit/function ensuring the People Function team delivers commercial, value add People Function solutions that are truly aligned to the overall business Strategy. As a SHCBP, the candidate will also lead, develop and manage directly and indirectly the People Function including all People Function specialisms
Job Description
- Uses business acumen/perspective to translate Business Units strategy into a clear people agenda within the direction set by the bank and global People Function for a business with multiple core businesses.
- Ensures Business as usual (BAUs) have appropriate people plans, capability and resources to deliver the plans.
- Prioritize, manage and lead team of People Partners to deliver across global Business Units.
- Translates Business Units people strategy into specific actions and individual Business Units areas.
- Internal client relationships in relation to specific People and Culture activity
- Lead strategic workforce optimisation initiatives and any associated change projects to actively increase revenue and business performance.
- Supports and challenges the senior business leaders on all aspects of their people agenda providing active leadership, in partnership with business leadership teams, on People Function issues such as reward, employee relations, talent, performance, organisation development/change, culture, leadership, learning and development.
- Champion talent management within Absa Africa and their business unit and ensure a cohesive approach across functions from acquisition to talent development to key employee retention.
- Leader of sizeable People Function professionals raises standards in the function and continues to improve People Function delivery and the capability of People Function teams.
- Sets out the vision of the organisation capability regularly for the BUs/functions and the plan for how to develop the capabilities.
- To drive high performance within the People, Function team ensuring that we continually push the benchmarks of performance.
- To matrix manage shared resources to ensure high service delivery and add value HR solutions
- Able to initiate, design and brilliantly execute integrated people solutions that address key business drivers, bringing together the resources within the business areas and People Function Centres of Excellence.
- To identify HR solutions that directly impact on business performance over the medium to long term Ultimate responsibility for the delivery of the HR team for all end-to-end processes ensuring continuously performance and process improvement.
- Measurement of the performance and effectiveness of the HR population against both internal and external benchmarks to continuously improve HR service delivery.
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial psychology, Human Resources, Banking, Commerce or equivalent.
- Master of Business Administration or postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
- 10 years general work experience with 5 years as a Human Business Partner leading the HR Agenda for medium/large business
