Enko Botho, part of Enko Education’s pan-African network of international schools, is seeking a dynamic and inspiring Primary School Principal to lead our primary school into its next chapter of growth and excellence.

The Primary School Principal plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of Enko Botho’s youngest learners. As the leader of the primary school, you will inspire a culture of curiosity, creativity, and academic excellence while ensuring a safe, nurturing, and joyful learning environment. You will oversee the design and delivery of rigorous academic programs – including arts and co-curricular activities – lead and develop a motivated team of teachers, and build strong partnerships with parents and the wider community. Reporting to the Head of School, you will be a key driver in advancing the school’s mission and preparing our students to thrive as confident, globally-minded citizens.
Key Responsibilities
As an ideal candidate, you will: 

  • Educational Leadership:
Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that includes arts education and promotes holistic student development.
Lead and support teaching staff to deliver engaging, high-quality instruction.
Monitor and evaluate teaching effectiveness and student progress.
  • Arts Education:
Oversee the planning and delivery of arts programs, including visual arts, music, drama, and other creative subjects.
Encourage innovative arts projects and extracurricular activities to enrich students’ creative experiences.
Promote an appreciation for arts and cultural activities within the school community.
 
  •  Staff Management and Development:
Recruit, train, and evaluate teachers and support staff.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities.
  • Student Welfare and Discipline:
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful school climate.
Address student behavioral issues in accordance with school policies.
  • Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and other administrative data.
Prepare reports and communicate effectively with the Head of School regarding school operations, achievements, and challenges.
Oversee school budgets and resource allocation.
 
  • Community Engagement:
Build strong relationships with parents, guardians, and the wider community.
Promote school events, arts exhibitions, and community programs.
  • Compliance and Policy Implementation:
Ensure adherence to educational standards, policies, and regulations.
Implement school policies effectively across all areas.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in primary education and leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development, arts education, and student assessment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and lead a diverse team of educators and staff.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a school environment, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Education
  • Master's degree in Education
  • Proven experience in primary education and leadership roles
  • Knowledge of curriculum development, arts education, and student assessment
