Job Summary:
The Senior Supervisor, Quality Engineering manages a team of quality engineers or technicians, setting day-to-day operational objectives and ensuring the effective execution of quality assurance activities. This role is responsible for the performance, development, and hiring of team members. The Senior Supervisor translates departmental goals into actionable plans for their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive team execution by managing the daily operations of a quality team, setting priorities for customer issue resolution, product qualification, and process audits.
- Build a high-performing team through the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and development of direct reports.
- Ensure high-quality technical outcomes by enforcing established quality standards, problem-solving methodologies (8D), and reporting procedures.
- Act as an escalation point for significant customer issues or internal quality problems, providing guidance and resolving technical and resource roadblocks.
Qualifications:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 3 years of Senior Supervisory experience or an advanced degree and 1 year of related experience.
- Solid understanding of Quality Management Systems (e.g., IATF 16949), automotive quality requirements, and core quality tools.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team of technical professionals.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
