What You'll Do
- Own the design, development, and iteration of production machine-learning systems that drive operational and business outcomes.
- Lead modeling, feature engineering, and dataset development for predictive and decisioning use cases.
- Design and maintain evaluation frameworks that reflect real-world behavior and business impact.
- Build and evolve LLM- and NLP-based pipelines to transform unstructured data into reliable operational datasets.
- Define and monitor quality, coverage, and reliability of ML and LLM/NLP systems at scale.
- Perform deep analysis of model and system performance to identify bias, data gaps, and systematic failure modes.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to translate business needs into data and modeling solutions, and to support productionization and ongoing iteration.
- Contribute to and define monitoring for model performance, data quality, and downstream business impact.
- Act as a senior technical owner and reviewer for data science work across the team.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative field and 5+ years of industry experience building and owning production data science or machine learning systems.
- Experience developing predictive or decisioning models used in operational or real-time settings.
- Demonstrated experience working with complex, multi-source datasets, including feature development and data quality challenges.
- Experience building, deploying, and evaluating NLP or LLM-based systems in production.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL in production analytics or machine learning environments.
- Proven ability to partner with engineering teams to deploy, monitor, and iterate on models and data pipelines.
- Ability to independently scope and drive ambiguous data science problems from problem definition through production impact.
- Experience with explainability, model diagnostics, and stakeholder-facing performance reporting is a plus.
- Transportation logistics industry experience is a plus.
