As a Senior Salesforce Developer Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex Salesforce solutions that advance New York Life's strategic technology initiatives. You will collaborate closely with architects, business partners, and engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing applications across a shared Salesforce platform supporting multiple lines of business. This role also partners with data teams to integrate Salesforce with AWS services and other enterprise platforms, enabling intelligent automation and data-driven decision-making.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, and Salesforce integration APIs.
- Partner with business stakeholders, solution architects, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and extensible technical solutions.
- Design and implement integrations between Salesforce, AWS services (including Lambda, S3, and API Gateway), and enterprise applications to enable secure, high-performing data exchange.
- Develop modern, responsive user experiences by collaborating with UX and front-end teams using Lightning Web Components, React.js, TypeScript, and Figma designs.
- Design and implement event-driven solutions using Platform Events, Change Data Capture (CDC), asynchronous Apex, and pub/sub patterns to support scalable integrations.
- Lead code reviews, establish development standards, and promote engineering excellence through CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps best practices.
- Troubleshoot and optimize application performance while ensuring reliability, maintainability, and compliance with enterprise security and governance standards.
- Evaluate and implement reusable frameworks, npm packages, and open-source libraries to improve application consistency, maintainability, and developer productivity.
- Contribute to Salesforce platform modernization by leveraging AWS DevOps capabilities, automation frameworks, and reusable architecture patterns.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, including Salesforce AI capabilities (Einstein and Agentforce), MuleSoft, and cloud integration patterns, to continuously enhance platform capabilities.
What You'll Bring
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of experience leading Salesforce implementations, including solution design, development, deployment, and technical leadership of engineering teams.
- Deep expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, and Salesforce platform development, with the ability to balance custom development and out-of-the-box capabilities.
- Strong experience designing event-driven Salesforce architectures using Platform Events, Change Data Capture (CDC), asynchronous processing, and pub/sub integration patterns.
- Extensive knowledge of Salesforce data architecture, security model, sharing model, and multi-org governance within enterprise environments.
- Proven experience designing and implementing secure integrations using Salesforce APIs, MuleSoft, and AWS services, including Lambda, S3, and API Gateway.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, React.js, and TypeScript, applying modern component-based development practices across Salesforce and web applications.
- Experience collaborating with data and engineering teams to troubleshoot complex integration, performance, and data quality challenges.
- Experience translating Figma designs into responsive, accessible, and reusable Lightning Web Components and React applications.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or comparable tools.
- Strong understanding of authentication and authorization technologies, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and Named Credentials.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $124,000-$177,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
