Role Overview
As part of Technology, Data, AI and Ventures (TDAV), you will contribute to initiatives that shape New York Life's digital landscape by building innovative customer and field service solutions on the Salesforce platform. Leveraging modern Salesforce technologies, cloud capabilities, and AI-powered features, you will help create seamless experiences for clients, agents, and employees while advancing the company's digital transformation strategy.
The Customer & Field Service Experience Agile Release Train (ART) within the Service Experience Value Stream is seeking an experienced Senior Salesforce Developer to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise Salesforce solutions. In this role, you will provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on in application development, architecture, integration, and platform optimization. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product teams, architects, and fellow engineers to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing Salesforce capabilities that support Customer Service Representatives, Field Service, and Agent Desktop experiences.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design, development, customization, and ongoing enhancement of Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, and other Salesforce technologies while providing technical leadership across the Service Experience Value Stream.
- Architect, develop, test, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing Salesforce applications and integrations that align with business objectives, enterprise architecture standards, and modern software engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, technology analysts, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate business requirements into innovative Salesforce solutions that improve customer, agent, and employee experiences.
- Optimize the Salesforce development lifecycle by implementing automation, improving application performance, troubleshooting complex technical issues, maintaining technical documentation, and continuously evaluating emerging Salesforce capabilities, including AI-powered platform features.
- Foster engineering excellence by mentoring team members, promoting development standards, adopting modern Salesforce capabilities, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the Agile Release Train.
What You'll Bring
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience) with 7+ years of hands-on Salesforce development and administration experience.
- Deep expertise in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Experience, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Apex Triggers, Batch Apex, declarative development tools, and Salesforce platform architecture.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce security, data modeling, sharing rules, REST/SOAP APIs, integration patterns, Service Cloud, and enterprise application integration using modern development practices.
- Experience developing scalable Salesforce solutions within Agile environments, with proficiency using Jira, source control, testing methodologies, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript, ReactJS, Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS), cloud technologies including AWS and S3, and experience troubleshooting complex cross-platform application issues.
- Excellent analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently, influence technical decisions, and partner effectively with business and technology stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Experience implementing Salesforce Agentforce, Einstein AI, Generative AI capabilities, and AI-powered customer service solutions within the Salesforce ecosystem.
- Experience designing enterprise Salesforce architectures that support highly scalable customer service, field service, and agent desktop capabilities.
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, API-first integration strategies, and modern DevOps or CI/CD practices supporting Salesforce development.
- Experience mentoring developers, providing technical leadership across Agile teams, and driving adoption of Salesforce platform best practices.
Salesforce Certifications
Candidates must possess three or more of the following Salesforce certifications:

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $124,000-$177,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
