How would like to be part of our General Ledger function within our BSO in Prague? You will be involved in helping and supporting the LEGO Group processes aligned within this part of the Accounting & Finance team.'This is a 3-year fixed-term role'
Core Responsibilities
Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations including supporting explanations and ensure follow up on outstanding balances and taking corrective action
Responsibility for the completion and review of reporting and audit requirements for company-related and third-party purposes
Approves journals, ensuring consistency and completeness of all postings with accurate coding, classification and aligned with local accounting standards
Performs variance analyses for movements on all accounts to keep financials free from probable errors and misstatements
Support all activities including internal audits, statutory audits, tax audits
Acts as contact for queries concerning accounting and finance matters
Maintain adherence to reporting rules, tax requirements for entities in region and lead communication with auditors
Prepare, review and submit government reports
The LEGO Business Service Operations (BSO) is a shared service centre that delivers HR and Finance services serving the LEGO Group from 3 locations;
Monterrey, Prague and Singapore. The GL department interacts with great parts of the LEGO organisation and therefore holds a meaningful role within the Business Service Operations (BSO) supporting the EMEA region.
The team is responsible for compliant handling of the general ledger and all engagements related hereto, which involves natural interaction with a broad range of both internal and external team members.
The departmental focus is on:
Make sure we live our partner promise by ensuring high quality, stewardship and full compliance with the LEGO Groups current Accounting Policy and global processes
Ensure timely, accurate and reliable transactional data recorded in general ledger and timely reconciliation of all accounts
Support personnel from various departments along with external partners through insightful and value-adding financial analyses, recurring statements and reporting bringing value to the overall business
The General Ledger department helps The LEGO Group by providing consistent, high-quality GL processes and customer-focused collaborator management. This allows the BSO to deliver phenomenal value to the LEGO organization.
Do you have what it takes?Significant experience working in a Finance function
+2 years of relevant experience gained in a similar role
Experience with an enterprise-wide accounting software system, preferably SAP
Microsoft Office at experienced level
Analytical and a focus on high-quality actions
Be robust, resilient and ability to accept changes, as well as having a proactive mind with a can-do demeanour.
Personal drive and initiative, collaboration skills and proven track record to develop trust and credibility with assigned business areas or other key team members
Strong written and spoken English, additional languages are an advantage
Verified hands-on experience in accounting operations across international environments
Experience with preparation of statutory Financial Statements
Ability to independently resolve moderate to complex problems
Preferably confirmed working experience in international accounting environment
Audit experience is an advantage
