The Sales Manager / Team Lead – Financial Services is responsible for the day‑to‑day leadership and performance of a team of Inside Sales Representatives. This role represents the first level of people management above individual contributors and is accountable for driving revenue achievement within assigned segments.
The role sets clear direction for the sales team by creating, communicating, and executing sales strategy, while providing context, coaching, and structure to ensure productivity, profitability, and high‑quality client engagement. The incumbent analyzes territory plans, delegates sales activities effectively, and identifies opportunities to improve processes and outcomes in alignment with business objectives.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven ability to develop, coach, and motivate sales professionals.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Advanced knowledge of direct selling concepts, solution selling, and sales execution.
- Strong industry knowledge within Financial Services.
- Extensive sales experience with demonstrated success in prospecting, lead generation, proposal development, value articulation, and closing.
- Limited but relevant people management experience preferred.
Impact You'll Make:
Sales & Revenue Management
- Own and drive revenue performance against established plans within allocated segments.
- Track, forecast, and roll up team revenue performance, ensuring visibility and accountability.
- Execute against milestones that support broader strategic sales goals.
- Apply advanced direct selling and solution‑selling techniques to maximize results.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, train, and motivate a team of Sales Associates to achieve revenue and performance targets.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development to build selling capability and engagement.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management of team members.
- Serve as the first layer of management, translating strategy into execution for frontline sellers.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through deep understanding of complex customer businesses.
- Oversee client engagement, contract hygiene, and relationship management activities.
- Partner directly with clients and sales associates to support deal progression and issue resolution.
Planning, Analysis & Problem Solving
- Analyze territory plans, pipeline health, and sales activity to optimize coverage and productivity.
- Identify, define, and develop solutions to sales challenges that are not immediately evident in existing processes or systems.
- Incorporate understanding of current business and industry trends into decision‑making.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as a key point of contact with management on critical sales issues that may impact strategic goals or outcomes.
- Communicate effectively across teams to ensure alignment and execution.
