About the role: 

This role is responsible for driving sales of digital equipment, consumables, and related solutions, specifically copier machines such as Ricoh and Canon printers within Nyeri, Laikipia, Nyandarua, and Nakuru counties. The primary target markets include schools, TVETs, universities, and hospitals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the education sector and a proven ability to sell effectively within it. Solid experience in solution-based selling and familiarity with institutional procurement processes will be highly essential for this role. 

The successful candidate is a highly motivated and results-driven sales professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be expected to proactively generate leads, independently identify business opportunities, and build lasting client relationships. This role demands initiative, strategic thinking, and a commitment to meeting and exceeding sales targets in a fast-paced and competitive market.


What you will do: 

Key responsibilities

  • You will confidently prospect new clients and expand the customer base without relying on pre-existing accounts.

  • You will engage in high levels of field activity, maintaining consistent visibility and client interaction within your assigned territory.

  • You will actively promote and sell our range of digital equipment to schools and educational institutions.

  • You will develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed targets.

  • You will identify and pursue new sales leads through fieldwork, cold calling, networking, and referrals.

  • You will build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients.

  • You will conduct product demonstrations and presentations to highlight the features and benefits of our equipment, primarily Riso, Ricoh, and Canon MFP printers.

  • You will prepare quotations, draft professional proposals, participate in tenders, and deliver compelling product presentations.

  • You will leverage digital tools and platforms to support sales processes and client communication.

  • You will negotiate sales terms, close deals effectively, and ensure the timely collection of outstanding payments.

  • You will provide excellent after-sales support and maintain high levels of client satisfaction.

  • You will stay updated on industry trends, market activities, and competitor offerings.

  • You will prepare and submit regular sales reports and forecasts.

  • You will collaborate with team members and other departments to achieve company-wide objectives.

  • You will maintain accurate records of all sales activities and customer interactions.



Requirements

About you: 

Must haves

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Education, Sales and Marketing, or a related field from a recognized university.

  • You have a minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in institutional sales and marketing, with a strong focus on the schools’ sector.

  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • You have excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • You possess a strong understanding of the education business landscape and customer needs.

  • You have a strong understanding of the local culture and business practices within the specified region.

Nice to have 

  • You possess a valid Class BCE driving license and maintain a clean driving record.

  • You are highly motivated and target-driven, with a proven track record of achieving sales goals.

  • You have excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

  • You possess strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • You are able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • You are proactive and a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership.

  • You are customer-focused and committed to delivering exceptional service.
