About the role

Halter is heading to South America. Argentina and Uruguay are two of the most exciting cattle markets in the world, and we're starting from scratch: no customers, no pipeline and no local processes yet. That's exactly why this role matters.

As our first Revenue Operations Manager in region, you'll lay the foundations the whole market will grow on. That means working out how deals actually move from first conversation to installed customer, getting the market set up properly in Salesforce, and shaping local pricing and deal desk with our Global Pricing & Packaging Manager. You'll also bring our first sales hires up to speed and build the reporting that tells us how the launch is going. Once things are up and running, the job shifts to keeping the market on plan and helping it grow.

You'll sit in our Revenue Operations & Enablement team, reporting into Auckland, with plenty of room to make your own calls. You'll quickly become someone senior leaders lean on, not just in sales and customer, but in finance, supply chain and right across the business

What your day could look like

As we get set up, your tasks may look different to when the market is fully established. Initially, it could look like…

  • Working out how a deal will realistically move from first conversation to installed customer in Argentina and Uruguay, and ensure our globalised funnel stages and handover processes align with what is needed in region.

  • Setting up the market in Salesforce with our Ecosystem team, including territories, currency, quoting and reports.

  • Working with our Global Pricing & Packaging Manager on local pricing and discount rules, taking currency and inflation into account

  • Starting weekly pipeline reviews and forecast calls with the first sales hires, and agreeing what each stage means

  • Training new sales team members on our tools and processes as they join

  • Making sure launch and support are ready before the first customer signs, with our Customer Revenue Operations Manager

  • Letting the team in New Zealand know what's different about this market and where our current approach needs to change

Then, once things are up and running your day could look like…

  • Running pipeline reviews with sales leaders and checking deals and stages are accurate

  • Looking into why conversion drops between stages and fixing the cause

  • Building reports that give leadership a clear view of the market without them having to ask

  • Supporting with the sales teams adoption of new tooling, or a feature that our Ecosystem team have just launched.

  • Writing up what you've built so the next market launch has something to start from

  • Feeding structured commercial intelligence back to HQ: what's working, what's not, what the market needs that our current playbook doesn't address

What we're looking for

Your background matters less than how you work. You might have come from sales or business operations, consulting or a customer-facing role, or been the person at a startup who kept everything running.

You may have built something from scratch before, whether that's a new market, team or function. You can move quickly without leaving a mess behind, and you set things up for scale, with the intention of giving these processes away when they are operationalised.

You care about data quality and the processes that drive it. In a new market, the habits set in the first few months are the ones we live with for years, so getting it right early matters to you. When something doesn't look right (whether it’s numbers or a customer experience), you look into it, find the root cause, resolve it, and reviewed that the fix actually worked.

People come to you for your opinion. You'll be a trusted partner to senior leaders across sales and customer, and well beyond them too, including finance, supply chain and other key parts of the business. You form a clear view, back it up with data, and help people make better decisions.

You're comfortable working autonomously, a long way from the rest of the team. Auckland is many hours ahead, so you'll sometimes need to make calls on your own from first principles.

You communicate clearly in Spanish and English with everyone from Territory Managers on farm to our Vice President of Sales, and you're happy to be direct.

You'll crush this role if you
  • Enjoy starting from nothing. There's no funnel, data or habits yet, and you find that exciting

  • Set things up to scale. What you build should work at 10 customers and at 10,000

  • Hold people to the plan. You'll push back when execution drifts from it

  • Spot where revenue is slipping before it shows up clearly in the data

  • Get good habits in early. It's much easier than fixing bad ones later

  • Share what you're learning. You give the team in New Zealand clear, useful insight about the market

  • Write things down. You document as you go so others can reuse your work

  • Already use AI day to day and keep looking for new ways it can help

  • Can influence people you don't manage. A lot of what you need sits with other teams, so you get things done through relationships and good insight

Bonus points if
  • You've launched a new market, region or business unit for a scaling company

  • You've worked in agriculture, ag-tech, SaaS, or hardware-led businesses where the sales motion is complex

  • You've operated in a multi-market or remote-from-headquarters setup before

  • You've worked with pricing or deal approvals in a high-inflation or multi-currency environment

Our Benefits
  • Delicious snacks and drinks are available for your daily flow.

  • Healthy body, healthy mind. We're partnered with Southern Cross Health Insurance to support your well-being.

  • We offer 6 months of fully paid parental leave for primary caregivers, 4 weeks of fully paid secondary caregiver leave and many other parental benefits that support you and your family.

  • Our personal growth is important. Halter offers an annual $1000 self-development budget to be used for anything that fuels personal growth.

  • Our time to recharge is valued, we're offered wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave.

  • Importantly, we offer an inclusive and attractive remuneration package made up of salary, benefits and an employee stock ownership plan.
