Team Overview

TransUnion International’s Market Development function exists to empower sustainable revenue growth across international markets—acting as a trusted advisor that transforms insights into actionable opportunities and drives scalable, focused growth. As Director, Regional Market Development, APAC, you will bring this mission to life across the region, serving as the commercial catalyst that turns market intelligence into market activation, solution commercialization, and sustainable growth.
This is a high-impact, growth-focused leadership role for a visionary strategist who thrives on building and industrializing a market development function at regional scale—shaping commercial strategies, accelerating go-to-market execution, scaling client-centric insights, and enabling sellers to win. It is an influence-based position with no direct reports: you achieve outcomes by working alongside and influencing a broad set of International, regional, and functional stakeholders—including senior leaders such as the Regional CRO, Regional Presidents, Sales, Product, and Marketing—to position Market Development as a growth engine for TransUnion International.
Important: Market Development influences and enables revenue outcomes through strategy, insight, commercialization, and seller enablement. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

1. Enable Commercial Strategies

Objective: Accelerate scalable growth by enabling deeper market understanding and equipping teams with targeted expertise.

  • Deliver market sizing and intelligence—standardizing TAM/SAM/whitespace methodology to identify and prioritize new growth opportunities across APAC markets and strategic verticals.
  • Support localization of adjacency and vertical strategies to bring differentiated commercial approaches to key markets.
  • Champion practice industrialization and cross-pollination—building repeatable, scalable playbooks, assets, and operating standards across APAC and within the International Market Development team.
  • Support industry seller upskilling by developing vertical/industry expertise content and delivery calendars in partnership with Sales Enablement.

2. Accelerate GTM Initiatives

Objective: Deepen industry relevance through targeted, purpose-driven sector engagement.

  • Lead and expand the ‘Thematic Selling’ strategy across APAC, including playbook development that deepens industry relevance and equips sellers to win.
  • Provide industry and key-client growth insights that inform regional GTM strategy and pipeline priorities, in partnership with the Regional CRO and Sales leadership.
  • Support TOM 2.0 enablement and roll-out to raise the bar on GTM operational excellence.
  • Drive region-specific strategic initiatives aligned to the 3YP, including support for expansion and inorganic growth (partnerships, M&A, or other).

3. Expand Solution Commercialization

Objective: Provide industry perspectives through market intelligence and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Launch and support ‘State of the Market’ forums to internalize market sentiment, insights, and intelligence across markets.
  • Support the product development lifecycle (PDLC) by contributing Voice-of-Customer, backlog, and GTM inputs.
  • Provide innovation guidance for new use cases that expand solution adoption and revenue, cross-pollinating successes to other regions.

4. Scaling Client-Centric Insights

Objective: Strengthen TransUnion’s market presence and reputation as a trusted advisor.

  • Amplify thought leadership to strengthen TransUnion’s brand and presence in the region’s key markets, in partnership with Marketing and Product Marketing.
  • Activate client events—including CABs, roundtables, and post-summit activation—to deepen engagement and position TransUnion as a trusted advisor.
  • Develop the ecosystem through partnerships and industry-body engagement that reinforce reputation and unlock new opportunities.
  • Lead through influence—not direct authority—building trusted relationships across International, regional, and functional teams to align stakeholders and drive outcomes without formal reporting lines.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - Success is measured by commercial impact influenced and enabled across the region — not by an individual sales quota:

  • Market Growth  - Market share growth and market expansion in targeted APAC geographies and priority verticals.
  • Pipeline Influence - Qualified pipeline influenced or enabled by market development initiatives (indicative $ value and # of opportunities).
  • Commercialization - Speed and success of solution commercialization and scaling of new use cases across markets.
  • Seller Enablement - Thematic Selling adoption; seller readiness and uptake of playbooks and enablement content.
  • GTM Execution - Successful execution of GTM initiatives and market-readiness for solution launches.
  • Client & Brand - Enhanced client engagement, trusted-advisor positioning, and brand presence in key markets.

Required Knowledge And Experiences

  • Proven Expertise: 10+ years in market development, commercial strategy, or GTM roles within B2B, data, or financial services industries.
  • Function-Building at Scale: Demonstrated experience building, scaling, or industrializing a market development or GTM function across multiple markets and verticals—not single-market execution alone.
  • Commercial Orientation: Track record of connecting strategy, insight, and enablement to pipeline, commercialization, and revenue outcomes—through influence, not direct sales ownership.
  • Influence Without Authority: Exceptional ability to lead, align, and mobilize senior stakeholders across a matrixed organization to deliver outcomes without direct reporting lines.
  • Regional & Global Perspective: Experience navigating complex, matrixed organizations across multiple APAC geographies and cultures.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to translate market insight into actionable, scalable growth strategies.
  • Analytical Strength: Skilled in market sizing, competitive intelligence, and solution commercialization.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Travel: Ability to travel across the APAC region as required (approx. 20–30%).

  • Innovation Culture: Work at the intersection of data, technology, and market insight.
  • Leadership Platform: Influence decisions at the highest levels and lead transformative strategic initiatives.
  • Regional Reach: Collaborate with diverse teams and senior commercial leaders across multiple markets.
