Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

The Sales Director is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that drive sustainable revenue growth across TransUnion Hong Kong. This role leads, coaches, and develops a high-performing sales team accountable for achieving revenue targets while maintaining and expanding existing client relationships.
The successful candidate will be responsible for protecting and growing revenue across the current portfolio of solutions, while building a robust pipeline of new business opportunities. Delivering exceptional client service is critical, requiring close collaboration with business development professionals, subject matter experts, product teams, operations teams, and other TransUnion business units.
This role will oversee new business development, solution implementation, and ongoing account management to ensure clients continue to realize value from TransUnion's solutions. The Sales Director will serve as a trusted advisor to clients within the banking and financial services industry and will be accountable for achieving budgeted revenue goals.
This position reports directly to the Chief Business Officer, TransUnion Hong Kong.
 

Sales Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute sales strategies and scalable sales processes that drive year-over-year revenue growth across existing and new accounts.

  • Create and implement strategic sales plans, forecasts, and business objectives aligned with corporate goals.

  • Communicate sales strategies and objectives effectively to the sales team and ensure successful execution.

  • Establish and oversee disciplined sales processes covering pipeline management, territory planning, account planning, and revenue forecasting.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments, providing recommendations to strengthen TransUnion's competitive position.
     

Business Development & Client Management

  • Build and maintain strong executive-level relationships within the banking and financial services sector.

  • Develop a deep understanding of client business challenges and coordinate TransUnion resources to deliver high-value solutions.

  • Drive revenue growth through new client acquisition, account expansion, and cross-selling opportunities.

  • Ensure successful delivery of TransUnion solutions and maintain high levels of client satisfaction.

  • Lead strategic client engagements, including negotiations, deal closures, and long-term growth planning.
     

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of sales professionals to achieve and exceed business objectives.

  • Foster a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and client success.

  • Review and recommend compensation structures and incentive plans that align with company goals and performance expectations.

  • Allocate resources effectively across accounts and territories to maximize business outcomes.
     

Reporting & Business Planning

  • Prepare and present regular sales reports, including revenue performance, pipeline health, sales forecasts, market opportunities, and account growth initiatives.

  • Identify opportunities for client base expansion and recommend action plans to accelerate growth.

  • Support key client and industry events as required to strengthen client engagement and business development efforts.


Required Knowledge And Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related discipline; MBA or Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of successful sales and sales leadership experience within the banking and financial services industry.
  • Proven track record of delivering significant revenue growth and acquiring new business.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, coach, and lead high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to develop, communicate, and execute sales strategies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to engage and build relationships with senior executives and key decision-makers.
  • Deep understanding of complex client environments and consultative selling methodologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of direct sales techniques, account management, and business development practices.
  • Strong industry knowledge, particularly within banking, financial services, data, analytics, risk, fraud, or information solutions sectors.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders across multiple business units.
