Looma Background

Looma exists to bring transparency, humanity, and responsibility to advertising and commerce. We do so by connecting shoppers to the people and stories behind their favorite brands, and informing their purchasing decisions.

Our first product, Loop™, is a network of in-store screens that play short videos focused on storytelling and education. The content for this network is powered by our second product, Relay™️, a marketplace of filmmakers who specialize in point-of-decision video in food & bev.

Position Summary

Loop™ is currently deployed in four regional retailers, and we work with a couple hundred brands (primarily middle market brands in the adult beverage category). The existing content marketplace supports our current scale & brand portfolio; however, we’re in pilots with a few national retailers that would require us to dramatically scale up our offering along several dimensions. Most significantly, we’ll need to win over a new tier of brand partner—enterprise CPG brands worth $1B+ — persuading them to enthusiastically partner with us on a point-of-decision content strategy that often feels quite different from their standard approaches for TV, web, and social. Second, we’ll need to evolve and expand our content offerings & Loop™ programs to serve these new partners & grocery categories (center store, deli, produce, etc.)—while still remaining true to our core of “authentic stories from real people.” As a result, we’re looking for a VP of Content Strategy who can help us dramatically grow and improve the content offerings at the core of the Loop™ experience and win over enterprise brands to our creative approach. This role will have full P&L responsibility and is very entrepreneurial in nature: current GMV is sub-$1m, and we believe we can grow to $10m+ fairly quickly. This role reports directly to our CEO.

The responsibilities for this role can be split into three primary categories:

  1. Enterprise Brand Content Strategy & Sales: 50%
  2. Loop™ Content Innovation: 40%
  3. Team Mgmt & Admin: 10%

Enterprise Brand Content Strategy & Sales (50%)

  • Partner with Brand Sales team to design strategy & processes for winning over marketing executives at enterprise brands to our creative approach
  • Grow relationships with marketing leaders at key enterprise accounts
  • Craft and deliver custom creative pitches for major content sales packages ($50k- $500k) at key accounts
  • Serve as the primary steward of brand experience, listening to feedback and designing improvements to our marketplace & content offerings

Loop™ Content Innovation (40%)

  • Partner with Chief Creative Officer and VP of Product to design & test new content approaches and program types for Loop™
  • Cultivate relationships with top tier creators (directors, stylists, etc.) & talent (chefs, influencers, etc.) in the food & bev space
  • Partner with Sr. Director of Content Operations to build internal systems & tools to bring these programs to life at scale

Team Management & Admin (10%)

  • Serve the Story Development team as department lead—own department P&L; define team priorities; represent SD team at leadership & executive meetings; provide training, accountability, and mentorship to direct reports

Attributes

  • Excited by our mission of making advertising (and therefore all of commerce) more responsible and more human
  • Strong customer orientation (natural sales & customer experience competence)
  • Experience selling creative strategy services to major CPG brands
  • Entrepreneurial; eager to build
  • Strategic & financial savvy
  • Warm, poised, and professional in communicating both internally and externally
  • Proven record of team leadership
  • Fun to work with — collaborative, positive, and energized by challenges

Structure & Compensation

Looma will provide a competitive compensation package consisting of base salary and stock options. All Looma compensation packages include cash / equity flexibility (i.e. you can opt for more equity and less cash or vice-versa).

Benefits

  • Employee coverage for health, dental, and vision (gold plan)
