Job Family Definition:

The Product Line Manager for switches will design, plan, develop and manage a portfolio of switching products throughout the solution portfolio lifecycle: from new product definition or enhancements to existing products; planning, design, forecasting, pricing and production; to end of life.

Management Level Definition:

Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Might act as project lead and provide assistance to lower level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. Indirect leadership by influence with the many functional groups the position interacts with is a key of success,

Location:   This candidate will be working our of our San Jose, California office on a hybrid schedule of at least 2 days in the office.   

Responsibilities:

Product strategy and vision

  • Develop and communicate a clear and compelling expansion strategy in switching for SMBs that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives, as well as deliver the best-in-class customer value.
  • Identify market trends, customer needs, customer adoptions, and competitive landscape to inform the product strategy.

EcoSystem Integration

  • Prioritize and define integrated solutions to expand the business beyond its current perimeter

Roadmap Development

  • Create and maintain a detailed product roadmap that outlines the scope and timeline of feature releases and enhancements.
  • Prioritize features and improvements based on customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, marketing, sales, and other departments to ensure successful product development and launch.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI teams to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces with ease of use constantly in mind for optimum product/solution adoption and ramp.0

Requirements Gathering

  • Gather and articulate requirements from various stakeholders, including sales, partners, internal teams, and market research.
  • Define clear and actionable use cases and specifications for the development team.
  • Write Product Requirement Documents (PRD), participate in technical design discussions that will impact Platform capabilities.

Market and Competitive Analysis

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for product differentiation and innovation. Survey partners, monitor adoption and site deployment profiles.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practice that could impact the product.

Metrics and Analysis:

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and track the success of product and solutions post-launch.
  • Analyze data and user/sales feedback to iteratively improve the product and optimize its performance.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Communicate product updates, milestones, and progress to both internal and partners stakeholders.
  • Present product vision, execution strategies, and results to executive leadership and other relevant teams.

Product Launch and Marketing:

  • Collaborate with marketing teams and region sales to develop go-to-market strategies, positioning, messaging, and promotional materials.
  • Support the launch of new products and features, ensuring a smooth rollout and user adoption.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering or related field of study. MBA or advanced degree in computer science or engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years of work experience in related field.
  • Technical understanding and knowledge of the relevant industry and technology.
  • Experienced with indirect sales and distributors and partners' enablement.
  • eCommerce and MSP experience a plus.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Technical switching expertise and ability to provide product specific technical training and sales enablement to the team.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop product strategy and sales enablement to achieve results.
  • Demonstrated skills in cost efficient solution building, competitive analysis, financial performance metric creation and analysis.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and knowledge of root cause analysis and problem detection.
  • Practice of AI tools in the job with demonstrated high productivity.
