OUR VALUES
- Be the offset. We create asymmetric advantages with creativity and ingenuity.
- What would it take? We challenge assumptions to deliver ambitious results.
- It’s the people. Our team is our competitive advantage and we are better together.
YOUR MISSION
True Anomaly is seeking an innovative Manager, Subcontracting and Indirect Procurement to lead our subcontract and indirect spend functions in the strategic development and execution of a resilient, high-performance supplier base for spacecraft programs. Reporting to the Sr Director, Supply Chain Management, this role encompasses deep technical subcontracting leadership alongside people management, program integration, and contract execution. You will own the full subcontract and indirect procurement lifecycle for a growing portfolio of aerospace-grade work packages spanning complex subassemblies, services, and indirect commodities. The successful candidate will bring a strong strategic vision for scalable, accountable subcontract ecosystem, a relentless focus on driving down cost, schedule risk, and execution friction, and the proactive mindset to continuously improve contracting processes and supplier management practices as the team and product line scale.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Subcontract Strategy & Execution
- Own the strategic direction for subcontracting and indirect procurement, including vendor selection, make-vs.-buy decisions, and commodity strategy aligned to program and production goals
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of subcontract and procurement professionals across the full procurement and contracting lifecycle
- Structure subcontract relationships to balance speed, capability, cost, and risk — and provide signal to the organization on subcontractor scaling and production readiness
- Drive a forward-looking subcontracting strategy that can grow with True Anomaly's programs
Contract Management
- Set negotiation strategy for subcontracts, terms, SOWs, and NDAs across all programs, engaging directly on the highest-value, highest-risk, or most complex agreements
- Establish the framework for scope, deliverables, schedule, pricing, and acceptance criteria definition, and hold the team accountable for consistent execution in partnership with engineering and program teams
- Serve as the escalation point with Legal and Program teams for contractual and execution risk
- Own the development and governance of subcontract templates and process standards, ensuring consistency and compliance as the team scales
- Support proposal development and pricing efforts by providing subcontract cost, schedule, and risk inputs to program teams
- Serve as the primary point of contact between subcontractors and Program Management, Engineering, and Finance, ensuring subcontracted work is integrated into program schedules and milestones
Supplier Performance Management
- Own the full procurement process including supplier onboarding, order release, and invoice approval for indirect procurement
- Manage subcontractor and indirect supplier performance across cost, schedule, quality, and execution
- Establish KPIs, reporting cadences, and escalation paths; identify risks early and drive mitigation plans
- Champion proactive process improvement across the procurement and contracting workflows, identifying and eliminating inefficiencies as the team scales
Compliance & Financial Oversight
- Ensure subcontract compliance with applicable customer, regulatory, export control (ITAR/EAR), and security requirements; maintain audit-ready documentation
- Track subcontract budgets, commitments, and financial performance; ensure timely supplier payments in line with contract terms
- Support cost optimization initiatives and long-term supplier strategy development
Leadership Expectations
- Operates with urgency, ownership, and accountability — drives issues to closure with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset
- Communicates effectively across technical, operational, and business teams; builds strong supplier and cross-functional relationships
- Balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Upholds a builder mentality focused on mission success and operational excellence
