Your Mission

True Anomaly is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to join our team in Centennial, CO. In this role, you will be at the forefront of building and maintaining a strong safety culture across our operations, ensuring our teams work in a compliant, hazard-free environment. You will own the development and execution of safety programs, hazardous waste compliance, and the processes and procedures that keep our operations running safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve occupational health and safety programs, policies, and procedures at our Centennial facility
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all hazardous waste compliance activities, including waste identification, characterization, handling, storage, manifesting, and disposal in accordance with Colorado and federal regulations
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce site-level standard operating procedures (SOPs) and EHS program documentation to ensure consistent, compliant operations
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and risk assessments to proactively identify and mitigate workplace hazards
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action tracking to drive continuous safety improvement
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs to ensure all employees and contractors understand and follow applicable safety requirements
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and federal EPA regulations
  • Track, interpret, and communicate changes in environmental and safety regulations, advising management on compliance obligations and operational impacts
  • Manage the site's Hazardous Materials Business Plan and ensure all regulatory submittals and renewals are completed accurately and on time
  • Oversee hazardous waste generator requirements including proper labeling, storage time compliance, manifesting, and biennial reporting
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, including spill response and hazardous material incident protocols
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams during the design and rollout of new processes, equipment, and manufacturing programs to ensure safety and compliance requirements are incorporated from the ground up
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies
  • Support broader EHS team initiatives and cross-functional projects as needed

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of professional experience in occupational health, safety, and/or environmental compliance
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing EHS programs, policies, and procedures in a manufacturing or industrial environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related engineering discipline
  • 6+ years of EHS experience in a dynamic manufacturing or aerospace environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) regulations and federal EPA requirements
  • Hands-on experience managing hazardous waste programs, including generator compliance, waste characterization, manifesting, and regulatory reporting
  • Experience developing and implementing comprehensive EHS programs from the ground up, including SOPs, training curricula, and compliance tracking systems
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and ability to apply them practically in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses with a focus on sustainable corrective actions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable procedures
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment
  • Self-motivated with a passion for continuous improvement and building a strong safety culture
  • Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) a plus

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $95,000-$130,000
  • Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave 

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work Location - this is a fully onsite role. Candidates must be based in or able to commute to our Centennial office daily.
  • Work environment - the work environment; temperature, noise level, inside or outside, or other factors that will affect the person's working conditions while performing the job.
  • Physical demands - the physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting and driving.

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
