Job Summary:
The Microsoft 365 lead engineer will support organizations in their effort to migrate into Microsoft 365 and or upgrade their existing 365 services. The successful candidate will have significant knowledge of the Microsoft 365 platform and services, proven service configuration and troubleshooting skills, as well as knowledge of on-prem Exchange and Active Directory services. The lead engineer will provide consultation and hands-on implementation support to Microsoft 365 migrations including design, architecture, configuration, migration best practices, and strategies to support operational KPIs. Key responsibilities include technical implementation and initial support of Microsoft 365 tenants, consulting and troubleshooting with team members to develop the solution path for migrations and new configurations for customers operating in a cloud environment. The engineer will support the Project Manager in gathering and analyzing requirements, solution design, and execute the migration, while delivering high customer satisfaction. Additionally, the candidate must possess strong creative, communication, and collaboration skills. They will work very closely with Solutions Engineers, Cloud Engineers, and the Project Management Office (PMO) for all new implementations. The position will be a key factor in providing a great customer experience pre and post implementation. The lead engineer will be a technical escalation point for engineers on the team who need assistance in their projects as well as training and guidance on new services and offerings.
Technical Skill Requirements
Qualifications:
- Administrative and configuration Experience with Microsoft 365's Cloud suite including Office, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, and OneDrive
- Experience in Creation and Maintaining Technical Documentation
- Ability to train and mentor highly technical and non-technical audiences alike.
- Experience in migrating multiple business units into a single, Microsoft 365 environment.
- Experience Implementing Microsoft AD, Azure AD connect, Azure AD
- Experience Implementing Single sign on (SSO)
- Working knowledge of troubleshooting and configuration Exchange 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019 and Exchange Hybrid servers, Exchange Online
- Administrative and configuration knowledge of Active Directory
- Hands on Setup and Configuration knowledge of Windows Server 2003 - 2022
- Exchange Online Protection experience
- Experience configuring and maintaining mail security platforms (Mimecast, Proofpoint, etc)
- Experience configurating and maintaining Microsoft Intune
- Experience configurating and maintaining Microsoft Teams Voice
- Experience mentoring/training peer team members.
Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential Duties include but are not limited to):
- Responsible for O365 tenant creation, takeovers, licensing changes, mail and data migrations and email security implementation
- Project management involvement implementing and maintaining Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange solutions.
- Lead activities implementing and maintaining complex Office 365 and MS Exchange solutions.
- Perform complex O365 migrations.
- Responsible for managing user access and accounts.
- Mentor, train, and troubleshoot with peer engineers on M365 Implementations and Migrations
- Provide on-demand guidance to engineers on the team when issues and questions occur.
- Hands on administration of Microsoft 365 cloud technologies (Azure, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Teams Voice, Intune.)
- Continued self-lead training on M365 changes pertaining to Microsoft releases around each O365 product.
- Develop, Maintain and update M365 governance documentation and PowerShell Scripts with product owners & Peer Engineers.
- Develop PowerShell scripts used to manage\support the M365 environment for multiple apps- Azure, SharePoint, Groups within a central repository.
- Partners with IT and other external workgroups for the integration of applications that support Office 365 solutions.
- Assists staff with troubleshooting complex technical issues experienced by internal and external customers.
- Provides training on O365 solution offerings, as well as IT orientation and security training.
- Provides technical support and maintains uptime as defined within the IT acceptable standards.
- Addresses production issues experienced by O365 users.
- Available for on-call rotation and escalation support of projects and high severity issues.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE & OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Educational & Skills Requirements:
- A college degree or equivalent work experience (7+ years).
- Excellent communication, presentation, writing, and editorial abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope, requiring in-depth evaluation as well as the ability to identify problems in advance, and propose solutions.
- Require limited supervision and direction; drive results and set priorities independently.
- Ability to work on a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule.
- Flexible work hours
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert certification a plus.
Needed Attributes:
- A proven level of experience with Exchange 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019 and Exchange Hybrid servers
- A proven level of competence with Windows servers, Active Directory, ADFS
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of competency in managing technical projects
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with project management.
- Proficiency in computer usage, internet, and Microsoft Office suite of applications.
Inter-Relationships:
Ability to work within a cooperative team environment as well as perform assignments autonomously. This position will require working with several departments and different personalities.

USD 117,300.00 - 195,500.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $117,300.00 - $195,500.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
