Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain multiple cloud environments within RapidScale's infrastructure (Compute, Storage, Network, Hypervisor, Backups, DR, and Monitoring).
- Lead Priority one calls as needed and provide support on escalated cases when necessary.
- Review entire environment and execute initiatives to reduce failures, defects, and improve overall performance.
- Document architectures, procedures, and processes for use by other cloud operators.
- Work with other Cloud and Network Architects to provide support, drive initiatives and complete projects in a timely manner.
- Support Sales and Solution Engineering teams in sales opportunity and product development.
- Change the network configurations as needed for optimal security and or connectivity
- Perform network configuration work across multiple data center and multiple customer environments in multi-tenant clouds
- Create & maintain network documentation
- Configure monitoring and backups of network devices
- Coordinate carrier moves, changes, maintenance, troubleshooting connections.
- Execute network-related initiatives to reduce failures, defects, and improve overall performance
- Assist internal and external customers with troubleshooting of the RapidScale networks
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 10 years' experience in a related field
- Requires strong knowledge of Network Infrastructure implementation, operation, & upgrades on network devices such as: Firewalls, Switches, Routers, & Load Balancers
- A proven level of expertise & competence with network and infrastructure design, implementation & operation
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of competency in managing technical projects
- Willingness to work on a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule
- Excellent communication, presentation, writing, and editorial abilities.
- Works well with others and is able to collaborate, delegate and coach other team members
- Operates effectively in a fast-paced, positive, high-energy environment with strong deadlines and quick response times.
- Knowledge of Network Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP, HSRP)

USD 106,700.00 - 177,900.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $106,700.00 - $177,900.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, parental leave, and COVID-19 vaccination leave.
