We are preparing Finance for a more disciplined, investor‑grade future and this internship sits at the centre of that work. You will help define what “ready” looks like for HERE’s Finance organisation for investor-grade readiness and corporate governance perspective, and leave behind a concrete framework the team can execute on. This is a hands‑on, research‑driven role with direct exposure to senior Finance leaders, not a shadowing assignment.
- Assess core FP&A processes , planning cycles, forecasting, management reporting and assess how they stack up against investor‑grade expectations in areas such as transparency, consistency and controls
- Build standardized, process artefacts: process maps, RACI/role definitions, key controls descriptions and high level roadmaps for critical finance processes.
- Consolidate your findings into a structured readiness framework and narrative that Finance can use as a baseline for strengthening financial discipline and preparing for future interactions
- Use a research‑first approach, combining external data (public filings, transaction case studies, analyst reports) with internal stakeholder interviews across among others, FP&A, Treasury, Internal Audit, Legal.
- Identify documentation, governance and control gaps in priority areas (for example internal controls, long‑term planning, treasury, investor communications support) and define what “good” should look like
Over 8–12 weeks (or longer), you will leave behind a clear, practical starting point for “organizational readiness for investor‑grade operations” in Finance – something that outlasts the internship
Who are you?We are looking for candidates who are currently enrolled in a Master’s degree in Finance or a closely related field (e.g. Business with strong finance content, Economics, Accounting & Control), or MBA candidates with a strong finance focus.
You:
- Are available full‑time for a period of 8–12 weeks (MBA) or somewhat longer for Master’s students if needed, depending on your academic program.
- Are based in, or able to be based in, the Amsterdam area, and can work 2–3 days per week from our Amsterdam office to engage closely with stakeholders and the FP&A team.
- Are eligible to undertake an internship in the Netherlands (including any required visa and/or university sponsorship arrangements).
What you Bring:
- You have built a strong foundation in corporate finance and are drawn to how Finance functions are designed, governed and scaled – not just to the modelling itself. You bring experience from corporate finance / FP&A, transaction advisory, equity capital markets, investment banking, or financial advisory – via prior internships, analyst roles, or 0–2 years prior to your masters or MBA of full‑time work experience
- You are comfortable analysing complex financial and operational data, and can translate it into clean, structured outputs (models, bridge analyses, dashboards, slide narratives). You have worked on ambiguous, loosely defined problems before and know how to turn them into clear hypotheses, workplans and deliverables.
- You are a self-starter who picks up context quickly, asks sharp questions and moves work forward without heavy day‑to‑day direction
- You communicate clearly and confidently with senior stakeholders; and are able to present interim findings and recommendations in a concise, story‑driven way.
- You are genuinely curious about how companies prepare themselves for interactions with public and private investors, including the processes, controls and infrastructure Finance needs to have in place
