About the role
We are looking for a Packet Core Integration Engineer to join our team as a Resident Engineer and serve as a trusted technical point of contact for external customers in the United States and Canada.
In this role, you will support the end-to-end delivery of 4G and 5G Packet Core solutions, with a primary focus on SMF and UPF nodes. You will contribute to deployment, system integration, configuration, upgrades, rollout, optimization, and troubleshooting activities while working closely with customers, solution architects, testers, and global engineering teams.
What you'll do• Provide technical service delivery and integration support to telecommunications operators across the United States and Canada.• Act as a Resident Engineer and primary technical contact for assigned external customers.• Perform and support end-to-end activities across deployment, system integration, configuration, rollout, optimization, upgrades, and troubleshooting for 4G and 5G Packet Core solutions.• Work with SMF and UPF nodes as part of 5G Packet Core deployments and evolution activities.• Apply your knowledge of Linux, TCP/IP, container technologies, Kubernetes, and virtualization to enable data connectivity and services across mobile networks.• Analyze complex technical issues, remove delivery barriers, and drive problems to resolution in collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders.• Work closely with solution architects, integration engineers, testers, and distributed global teams to deliver high-quality results.• Contribute to continuous improvement by promoting simplification, automation, and efficient ways of working.• Share knowledge, technical practices, and lessons learned with colleagues and project teams.• Build trusted relationships with customers through clear communication, technical ownership, and a consultative approach.• Influence and contribute to results-oriented projects that support customer success and business profitability.
What you'll bring• A bachelor's degree in engineering, telecommunications, computer science, or a related field.• Business-level English proficiency, • Good experience in the Packet Core domain across 4G and 5G technologies as well architecture and call flows.• Hands-on experience with SGSN-MME and Evolved Packet Gateway (EPG), including deployment, integration, configuration, and troubleshooting.• Knowledge with SMF and UPF, including deployment and upgrade activities• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized environments.• Familiarity with Linux, TCP/IP networking, virtualization, and cloud-native technologies.• Experience working directly with external customers or managing customer-facing technical activities.• Experience collaborating with local and globally distributed teams.• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and customer-management skills.
Additional requirements• Willingness and ability to travel when required by customer or project needs.• Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when necessary to support customer activities across Pacific Time Zone schedules.
