You will ensure that we comply with all local indirect taxes including VAT, GST, sales tax, and excise tax, among others. You will ensure the timeliness and accuracy of all indirect tax fillings and ensure that we comply with local regulations and accurately report our financial statements in a timely manner. To succeed in the role, you must understand the accounting entries for all of these taxes and ensure we are accounting appropriately. You will also effectively work with local tax authorities to manage indirect tax audits including preparation and provision of supporting documentation.
How you will contribute
You will:
- Manage the UK employee taxes compliance tasks including PAYE Settlement Agreements ensuring accurate and timely submission to tax authorities, preparing for SAO certification, HMRC's BRR reviews, voluntary disclosures.
- Provide technical support to other functions responsible for additional year end compliance such as Share Schemes and P11d reporting
- Responsible for advising and driving implementation for UK Employee Taxes strategy to minimise the tax liability to MDLZ
- Ensure a strong controls and compliance environment in your area of scope - ensuring full compliance with our Accounting policies and delivering lowest possible risk rating with tax authorities
- Managing the delivery of ad-hoc employment tax advice relating to areas such as employment status reviews, termination payments, expenses/incentive compliance, benefits in kind, salary sacrifice and due diligence's
- Coordinate with professional services providers (both external providers and internal HR/payroll teams) and integrate them with operating needs. You will also provide and interpret data from accounting records as needed
- Lead projects to drive for compliance, harmonization, efficiencies and improvements to ways of working on employment tax processes, systems, reporting tools and build a mindset of continuous improvement within the team. You will also lead implementation efforts on new employment taxes legislation.
- Provide advisory scope for Ireland Employment Taxes and support with ad hoc requests
What you will bring
- TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in external reporting of employment taxes, understanding of tax authorities reporting requirements and disclosure reporting. Expertise in policy, controls, and compliance design.
- General knowledge of tax laws. (CTA, ATT or qualified by experience)
- BUSINESS ACUMEN and an understanding of our business and finance beyond accounting and external reporting scope
- LEADERSHIP SKILLS including proven business partnering and communication skills. Experience of working with cross-functional and business partner teams to drive and influence change
- GROWTH/DIGITAL MINDSET and the ability to identify strategic opportunities and leverage technology to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
- INTEGRITY and sound judgement in all decisions and interactions aligned with our values and policies and external regulations
