The GE Healthcare Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) Internship offers professional development through a challenging internship in a dynamic, fast-paced, medical technology business. Interns are embedded in real engineering teams and work on impactful software projects under the guidance of experienced technical mentors and participate in professional development activities.

Responsibilities:
As an EEDP Software intern, you will receive a summer project that pertains to different parts of the business at GE HealthCare. Assignments may include:
Designing, testing, and debugging software features for GE HealthCare products
Developing and enhancing internal development or testing tools
Performing data analytics and visualization
Creating technical documentation and knowledge resources
Basic Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or master’s degree program and planning to continue studies after Summer 2027.
Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering (with a focus on software), or a closely related field.
Strong academic performance (GPA).
Required Skillset must include: Java, C++, and/or Python.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical problems and solutions in clear and simple terms.
Demonstrated analytical ability and technical competency in Computer Engineering or Computer Science areas.
Strong initiative with the ability to work independently and in teams.
Proven leadership skills and/or experience.
Able to work for a minimum of 10 consecutive weeks.
Willing to relocate to Milwaukee/Waukesha, WI or other applicable GE HealthCare site as defined in role selection; relocation assistance and housing stipend available.
Preferred Qualifications:
A prior internship or co-op with software and/or firmware design experience.
Overall GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale).
Proficiency in software languages such as JavaScript, Perl, Shell scripting, C, and/or MATLAB.
Experience with object-oriented design methodology, and/or algorithm development.
Experience with agile principles and methodologies.
Experience with Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and/or Artificial Intelligence technologies.
Passion for a career in healthcare technology.
