About the Team
The Pricing & Trust Analytics team within Expedia Group’s Yield & Analytics organization serves as the Product Analytics specialist team for our two-sided marketplace. We deliver data-driven insights that support a scalable, profitable, and high-quality marketplace for travelers, partners, and Expedia alike. Our work spans technically complex problem spaces, from deep-dive analysis and impact measurement to experimentation and machine-learning-informed product development.
Our team is looking for an experienced analytics professional to join the Pricing & Trust Product Analytics team, supporting the Pricing Product team and its strategic initiatives. This is a mid-level individual contributor role that partners closely with product managers and engineering teams to drive data-informed decisions and improve both traveler and partner experiences across our platforms.
In this role, you will:
- Work across large and complex datasets to answer high-value product and marketplace questions.
- Write efficient, scalable SQL and use analytical tooling such as Python or R to extract, transform, validate, and analyze data.
- Independently scope and solve ambiguous problems, clarifying requirements, selecting analytically sound approaches, and driving work from question to recommendation.
- Evaluate data quality, identify gaps or risks in source data, and improve the reliability and reusability of analyses and analytics workflows.
- Build clear, decision-oriented narratives and artifacts that help technical and non-technical stakeholders understand the why, the so what, and the recommended next step.
- Proactively build trusted relationships with stakeholders across Product and Engineering, and manage expectations across multiple projects and priorities.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in analytics, data science, product analytics, or a related quantitative role.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working in complex data environments, including joining, cleaning, and validating large datasets from multiple sources.
- Proficiency in Python, R, or a similar programming language for data analysis and problem solving.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently through ambiguous questions, dig deeply into data issues, and translate business problems into effective analytical approaches.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, including the ability to explain methods, assumptions, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A proactive, self-starting approach, with strong ownership, curiosity, and judgment in complex problem spaces.
- Experience using AI capabilities to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and improve productivity across projects.
