Job Description:

   

HPE is seeking a strategic and experienced Director, Business & Strategy – Mega Accounts to lead the cross-functional orchestration of HPE’s most complex and strategically important customer engagements. This role will serve as a central business integrator across Client Management, Sales, Product, Services, Finance, Legal, Operations, Supply Chain, and other key organizations to ensure alignment and disciplined execution throughout the mega-account lifecycle.

The Director will act as a trusted strategic partner to Client Management senior leadership, providing an end-to-end view of mega-account initiatives, driving accountability across workstreams, proactively identifying risks and dependencies, and ensuring timely resolution of issues. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a highly matrixed environment, influencing senior stakeholders across organizations without direct authority, and translating complex business priorities into coordinated execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional orchestration for designated mega-account opportunities, ensuring alignment across business units, functions, and executive stakeholders.
  • Partner closely Account Leadership to translate customer priorities and strategic objectives into coordinated internal execution.
  • Establish governance frameworks, operating rhythms, and accountability mechanisms to drive execution across complex, multi-functional initiatives.
  • Maintain an end-to-end view of critical workstreams, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, and mitigation actions.
  • Engage with functional and program leaders across HPE to drive alignment, resolve conflicts, remove organizational barriers, and maintain execution momentum.
  • Identify emerging risks and dependencies and proactively develop mitigation strategies before they impact the customer, deal, or business outcome.
  • Consolidate complex cross-functional information into clear executive-level insights, recommendations, and reporting.
  • Facilitate executive governance and decision-making by identifying issues requiring leadership intervention and driving them to resolution.
  • Ensure customer commitments and strategic deal objectives remain aligned with internal execution throughout the opportunity and transition into delivery.
  • Develop and implement repeatable processes, tools, and best practices for managing mega-account opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying systemic organizational barriers and recommending improvements to operating models, governance, and execution processes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on mega-account health, execution risks, strategic priorities, and required actions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years experience in business strategy, program management, transformation, consulting, sales strategy, services, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives within large, global organizations.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to effectively engage and influence senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed organization and drive outcomes without direct authority.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and business judgment.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues and clearly articulate risks, options, and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, competing interests, and complex dependencies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with large enterprise customers and/or complex, multi-year technology or services engagements is highly desirable.
