DComm Solutions Engineer
Industrial Engineering applied within digital commerce fulfilment environments, focused on end-to-end process optimisation, systems alignment, and scalable infrastructure design to enable efficient, high-growth operations. This portfolio operates across the full supply chain from order placement to delivery ensuring processes and systems are efficient, integrated, and future-fit.
- End-to-end optimisation of the eCommerce fulfilment value chain, including order lifecycle, store picking, last-mile delivery, and returns
- Advanced process re-engineering capability, including as-is mapping, gap analysis, and scalable future-state design
- Strong alignment between operations and digital systems (ERP, WMS, OMS), including requirements translation and UAT support
- Experience in fulfilment infrastructure design and layout optimisation to enable efficient flow, capacity, and scalability
- Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment and execution across operations, supply chain, technology, and property in fast-paced environments
The role has a dual focus:
- Process Optimisation: Analysing and redesigning fulfilment and operational processes to improve efficiency, cost, speed, and quality using data-driven Industrial Engineering principles.
- Infrastructure Delivery: Supporting the design, feasibility, and implementation of fulfilment and logistics infrastructure to enable scalable operations.
Role Description
Process Analysis and Optimisation
- Analyse current operational processes, workflows, and resource utilisation to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
- Design and implement process improvements to optimise throughput, reduce waste, and enhance productivity
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies to drive operational excellence
Data Analysis and Insight Generation
- Collect, validate, and analyse operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and performance gaps
- Develop models, simulations, and forecasts to support planning and decision-making
- Translate data insights into actionable recommendations for business stakeholders
Capacity Planning and Resource Optimisation
- Support capacity modelling, workforce planning, and resource allocation initiatives
- Evaluate demand vs. capacity scenarios and recommend optimal solutions
- Assist in balancing service levels, cost efficiency, and operational constraints
Project Support and Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to and support operational improvement projects and initiatives
- Track project progress, benefits realisation, and implementation outcomes
- Embed a culture of continuous improvement within supported areas
Infrastructure design and execution
- Support the design and of space plans, detailed drawings and specifications for new infrastructure projects and changes to existing infrastructure to support fulfilment requirements
- Manage the execution of infrastructure changes across multiple stakeholders
- Provide proactive feedback to all stakeholders on project progress, costs and completion progress
- Provide support to operations teams through the go-live and stabilisation phases of projects
Systems and Process Integration Support
- Support the design and integration of systems, tools, and technologies to enhance operational efficiency
- Ensure alignment between business processes and enabling systems
- Assist with process standardisation and documentation
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand operational challenges and requirements
- Present findings, insights, and recommendations in a clear and structured manner
- Support business units in adopting improved processes and practices
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field (essential)
- +5 years’ experience in process optimisation, operations analysis, or continuous improvement or similar (essential)
- Exposure to data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, SQL or similar)
- Experience in retail, logistics, supply chain, or complex operations environments (preferred)
